A positive interest rate policy as per the academic definition of inflation. I present a specific framework for purposes of analysis: moslereconomics.com/wp-conte…

They haven't modeled the currency itself as a public monopoly, supported by coercive y taxation.

That's either a return on the bank's equity, or a return vs bank liabilities?

Yes, more specifically, it starts with a tax liability. ;)

You could also start with a discussion of fixed fx policies and show how mainstream, etc. applies. Then go into today's floating fx regimes and show how they work and how mainstream, etc. isn't applicable?

Bank purchases are via crediting a depositors account on the bank's books. Banks purchases goods/services, called 'spending' Banks also purchase financial assets, such as promissory notes, called 'lending' Lending is a subset of spending.

The micro foundation of our monetary economy is the currency as a public monopoly. I had that conversation with Prof. Woodford way back. He was very cordial but never went there. Nobel prize in economics awarded to Robert E. Hall and Michael Woodford

⬇️⬇️⬇️ @MegasAlex2000

The neutral rate thing is a fixed fx phenomenon, not applicable to floating fx. All those PhD's at the NY Fed don't know this???

Ironically, President Trump and I are aligned in his desire to cut the fed funds rate to 0, albeit for different reasons.

Treasury securities already are 'the money.' They are credit balances in securities accounts at the Federal Reserve Bank. Not wrong to call them savings accounts at the Fed.
