I guess 250 years or so was a good run for a democracy. Well done USA! There are few ways for democracies to self-destruct. You found one despite all the warnings. Enjoy your slow slide. You probably won’t even notice it happening. Sadly it’s going to spread here too though.

Trauma centres are essential. In peel we have been trying to expand trauma centre reach for years but red tape has had @Peel_Paramedics tied up. Paramedics can only go to trauma centres within 30 min drive. 60 min is safe & would allow us to provide more appropriate care
SHOOTING: - Hurontario St & Glenn Hawthorne Blvd, in Mississauga - One person injured - Victim going to a trauma centre - C/R at 4:28 p.m. - PR240246305

Outstanding! An honour to be medical director for the best EMS agency on the planet! Splitting this service into three parts would be one of the worst decisions I can imagine. I completely support @Peel_Paramedics to do anything possible to prevent such a disaster!

Unfortunately @Peel_Paramedics won’t exist soon if the transition board has their way. Instead you’ll be getting lower quality care from a lower-tier municipal agency. Patients will suffer. Reach out to let the board know if you’d like our world class service kept as is.
We want to thank you the @Peel_Paramedics for helping our daughter yesterday. You were calm, caring and great with her. She loves the stuffy too. Thank you.

@Peel_Paramedics & @OPSEU277 do incredible work The Ontario Government is dissolving the @regionofpeel in just over a year and is inviting public comment on how #paramedic services will be delivered moving forward. Have your say ontario.ca/page/peel-region-… Lives are at stake.
Peel Paramedics provide out-of-hospital, medical and community care 24/7. Over 700 paramedics respond to more than 140,000 emergencies each year. Making us one of the busiest paramedic services in Canada. For more information, visit ow.ly/Eu6r50Q76o9

So glad @fordnation is open to correcting mistakes. Currently paramedic service delivery is being put at risk by the division of @regionofpeel. The public needs a commitment to continue to deliver paramedic services on a regional basis.

I’m now up as @medic_4900 on Threads. Hoping it can replace Twitter after my once-useful feed here became a useless cesspool of anger and unverified disinfo. I have high hopes.

Just revisiting this post after 6 months… Would like to point out that it was EM that got it right in those first minutes-hours of speculation right after the incident.
