WTF is this person on about? And it's Them/They, and there's a lot of us :)
In on a Saturday again so @McrDPAC and his comrades can rinse the taxpayer of PIP and whatever else.
You’re welcome.

Julie Burchill is entitled to defend Jeremy Vine. Mike O’Brien is entitled to challenge him. But this goes far beyond one broadcaster, one columnist or one campaigner.
What I will not accept is disabled people being divided into the “deserving” and “undeserving”, with wheelchair users held up as somehow more legitimate than people with mental health conditions or less visible disabilities.
My wheelchair does not make my disability more valid than somebody else’s.
Disabled people work. Disabled people pay tax. Some cannot work. Some need support to work. None of that determines our worth.
We cannot allow ourselves to be divided to make welfare cuts and suspicion of disabled people easier to justify.
Because once we accept that there is a line between the “good disabled” and the “bad disabled”, somebody else gets to decide where that line is drawn.

We have to hold the line on this.
Abuse and personal attacks are unacceptable, whoever they are aimed at, and I have called them out when I’ve seen them.
But legitimate criticism is not abuse.
Disabled people, chronically ill people and unpaid carers have every right to challenge powerful presenters, organisations and decisions that affect our communities.
One individual advocate cannot be held responsible for everything that other people subsequently say or do online.
I know Mike through the DPO Forum, and I will not stand by while one person from our community is singled out and expected to answer for the behaviour of an entire online audience.
We can condemn abuse while still demanding accountability.
Those two things can, and must, coexist. @Mikeo56977865 @areyoflight @DpacLeeds @Dis_PPL_Protest @1kilroywashere @paulapeters2 @GMCDP @relish_hendy @DPACSheffield

100% solidarity to Mike.
I am now being harassed by @theJeremyVine, who is accusing me of starting the petition calling for his removal as host of the Carers UK Awards ceremony. He is also attempting to hold me personally responsible for the hate he received, and for Tiggy Walker’s decision to delete her X account.
As I have already made clear to Jeremy, I will not be held accountable for the actions of other X users, nor will I apologise for behaviour that was not mine. I also will not apologise for the statement I made challenging his appointment by Carers UK. That statement was legitimate, principled, and grounded in concerns shared widely across the caring and disabled communities.
I am making this public because Jeremy needs to understand that he cannot single out one individual in private, and that disabled people, chronically ill people, and unpaid carers stand together as a community. We do not allow any one of us to be targeted or blamed in isolation.

Replying to @CarersUK
@CarersUK I would like to publicly express my disgust and disappointment at your entire organisation, an organisation that exists to represent unpaid carers across the UK. You have chosen to stab us all in the back by choosing Jeremy Vine to host this years Carer UK awards. This man has made clear his hate for disabled people, the vulnerable and unpaid carers, yet you chose him to host the awards ceremony. I sincerely hope you see the error of your ways and the anger you have caused within the unpaid carer community and change your minds about this awful decision.

This response fails to address the very valid response from disabled people & their carers about @JeremyVineOn5 role in constantly espousing negative and extreme views about people who claim benefits - often framing them as a drain on the state.
Evidence of Vine's anti disabled agenda:

Carers UK has chosen Jeremy Vine to host its 2026 awards, but whose side are they on? In 2023,
I challenged the inflammatory way his programme framed sick and disabled benefit claimants.
Vine replied personally, distanced himself from his own programme’s output and invoked his family’s experience of Parkinson’s.
I kept the receipts.
You cannot celebrate unpaid carers while legitimising media coverage that demonises the disabled and sick people they support. Carers and disabled people are not opposing groups: attack one and you harm both.

This morning I have written to @CarersUK to request they reconsider their choice and instead engage with disabled people and unpaid carers to identify a host whose record reflects the dignity and respect carers deserve. I urge as many of you who have the time and the spoons to do so to also do the same. We can't allow this decision to go unchallenged. Send your emails to info@carersuk.org
We’re delighted to announce that @theJeremyVine will host The Carers UK Awards 2026!
Judging is underway, and we’ll be announcing this year’s finalists in the coming weeks.
Stay tuned!

ALT An graphic announcement on a maroon background. On the left is the "Carers UK Awards 2026" logo, featuring the word "Awards" in a red, elegant script flanked by arches of "Carers UK" text and three gold stars. Below this, in bold gold letters, reads "HOST ANNOUNCEMENT". At the bottom left, the text "Proudly supported by" sits above the Regina logo, which is blue text outlined in orange on a white rounded rectangle. On the right, a gold-framed square portrait shows broadcaster Jeremy Vine. Below his portrait, his name "Jeremy Vine" is written in gold script between two horizontal gold lines.
Why limit replies? You do not address it at all and Vine is still booked. You are rewarding hate speech. Surely the death of Jason Arday is enough to show media bigotry has devastating consequences. Vine is a hate monger.
