It was great to join USW and the shipbuilders yesterday during shift change at Newport News Shipbuilding alongside my good friends @MarkWarnerVa and @BobbyScott4VA3! Virginia workers are the backbone of our economy, and I always enjoy the chance to share my plan to fight for them in Congress by lowering costs in Hampton Roads & ending corruption in Washington.

The tragedy in Oregon is the 52nd school shooting in the U.S. in 2026. We do not have to live like this, and we should never accept it as normal.
I have repeatedly called on Republicans to hold hearings on school shootings. When I’m chair, the Committee on Education and Labor will finally act to protect students.

$2 million delivered to expand broadband on the Virginia Peninsula.
Reliable internet helps local businesses compete and grow, students do their schoolwork, and families stay connected. This funding will strengthen the fiber network connecting Newport News and Hampton to the rest of the region, so more homes and businesses get service they can count on.
That's an investment in the people and businesses here today, and in our future.

It has been three years since Hamas brutally kidnapped and murdered people in their homes and communities and it has been three years of a full-scale humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
As we mourn the lives lost and destroyed, as we contend with the ongoing crisis in Gaza, and as we confront the instability across the region, the international community must focus on protecting civilians, delivering aid, bringing stability to the region, and ultimately on negotiating a lasting peace.

Five years ago today, 13 brave Americans gave their lives in service to our great nation at Abbey Gate during the final days of the war in Afghanistan. On this day and every day, we honor their sacrifice, remember their courage, and continue to keep their families in our thoughts and in our prayers.

Today, we celebrated the groundbreaking of the new Virgil I. "Gus" Grissom Library, a transformational investment in education and innovation. 📚✨
The new 51,144-square-foot space will be nearly three times larger than the current Grissom Library and will feature expanded collections, makerspaces, modern technology, collaborative learning spaces, study rooms, and flexible areas for programs and events. The library will serve as a vibrant community hub where residents can learn, create, connect, and thrive while helping revitalize the Denbigh corridor.

Today, I toured @HabitatPGW’s Austin Landing development and held a roundtable discussion on lowering housing costs.
President Trump continues to refuse to sign the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, despite overwhelming bipartisan support in both the House and Senate. This legislation would increase the nation’s housing supply, improve affordability, and help lower housing costs for families.

Hampton Roads needs a fighter who is ready to take on Jen Kiggans and the most corrupt administration in history, which is raising prices on working families.
Virginians want more affordability and less corruption from Washington, and I’m ready to serve the people of Hampton Roads who are being left behind by corrupt politicians like Jen Kiggans and Donald Trump.
