Hamstring injuries are still the most common muscle injury in field sports. Our new @SportsMedicineJ review asks: why do they keep happening, and how can eccentric training help?

Adaptations in biceps femoris long-head muscle-tendon mechanics during the Nordic hamstring exercise in response to 9 weeks of training
🏋♂️ led to..
- ⬆️ torque at longer MTU lengths
- BfLh fascicles operate at ⬆️ lengths

In this study, 9 weeks of Nordic hamstring exercise training allowed the biceps femoris long-head fascicles to reach longer lengths during the exercise, mechanical adaptations that may contribute to its protective effects against hamstring injury.
