The comments here 🤯🤯 Dear General Public: -Yes, you can play at a high level on an ACL deficient (torn) knee. -No, not all ACL tears are painful. -This is also far more common than you think. Signed, Healthcare workers who actually work with ACL injuries

The goal of teaching should not be to help the students learn how to memorize and spit out information under academic pressure. The purpose of teaching is to inspire the desire for learning in them and make them able to think, understand, and question.

Osteoarthritis is a systemic problem, not just a "joint" problem. The illustration captures the complexity & multidimensional aetiology very well. link.springer.com/article/10…

This is so beautiful to see that safe spaces are able to be created in more places. As a gay male athletic trainer this means so much to me 🥹 way to go Seattle!!!

Seeing energy drinks at the lunch table of 7th graders is beyond concerning. No 7th grader let alone kid < 16 YO should be using energy drinks or pre-workouts... -As I have said in many presentations, videos, and articles… “using a pre workout for energy is like rearranging furniture on a sinking 🚢 !” 🚨High school & college athletes listen up🚨 If you need a pre-workout for “energy” you likely aren’t: ❌Eating enough quality carb or protein ❌Hydrating or drinking sufficient fluid ❌Getting your 7-9 hours of sleep ❌Eating enough overall calories to support training & recovery demands Consuming the level of caffeine ( 120-300 mg +) in pre-workouts, energy drinks like: ✖️Celsius ✖️Bang ✖️C4 ✖️Red bull ✖️Prime On a regular basis is extremely harmful to your health. Too much caffeine (> 200+ mg ) in one dose or in a short period of time can lead to: ❌Heart palpations ❌Anxiety & mood disorders ❌Poor appetite = inability to consume enough kcal ❌Depression & poor sleep (caffeine has a 6 hour half life and it will still be in your system at bed time if you consume in the afternoon/evening) Pre-workouts/caffeine can’t replace the fundamentals. Back to the basics with real food. – at Nashville, TN

We don’t ask pediatricians if they’re gonna “climb the ladder” into geriatrics, so why do we ask high school athletic trainers when they’re going to “level up” into college/pro sports? Athletes are athletes and they all deserve healthcare. There shouldn’t be a hierarchy.

This Thanksgiving, athletic medicine professionals will join many others to provide care and treatment while being away from family and friends. Please thank your athletic trainer and others for their commitment to athlete health, safety, and wellbeing this Thanksgiving.

This is very much the case! It is astounding how many ATs I have heard say this
I hear older ATs say that the "Masters program is killing our profession." And then in the very next breath they say that they are telling students interested in healthcare field to go to PT or PA school. Or basically anything but AT. The masters program isn't killing AT...

A lot of you are justifying going to NATA 2025 in Orlando when you can’t get arrested and charged with a jail sentence but your colleagues can. Your privilege is showing and the fact that your national org cares more about losing money than taking a stance for their members and patients is very telling.
Replying to @ErinInTheMorn
The bill is HB1521. It says that if a trans person is in the bathroom of their gender at the same time as a cis person, they can be arrested and charged, with a 1 year jail sentence. It applies to public owned or leased bathrooms, which is actually a LARGE list. See some here:

I will not be going to NATA 2025 both as an openly gay AT as well as to support my colleagues who are even at greater risk than myself. I wholeheartedly appreciate those of you that are taking a stand!
I will not be going to Nata 2025 if it is unsafe for my colleagues to do normal things without getting arrested.

So proud you Jalen! Keep hustling and doing what you love! 🍀🏀
When Jalen Pickett left the @AQ_Basketball gym, he was a ZERO star recruit with ZERO D1 offers. "To come back here & think about the times I had here, it just feels surreal." -@JalenPickett7 24 hours before the #NBADraft, the Rochester native reflects back to where it all began

The body needs to replenish about 1.0–3.0 g of creatine per day to maintain normal (un-supplemented) creatine stores depending on muscle mass. Creatine improves numerous factors including strength, power, sprint ability, muscular endurance, resistance to fatigue, muscle mass, recovery, cognition, and speeding up muscle growth. Creatine is not just for MEN OR MUSCLE building it's also for females and aging adults!! nutritionwithwendi.com/blog/… – at Nashville, TN
