he got off so this is maybe not the best example but sometimes I think wish we wrapped up civil damages in the criminal process like in certain civil-law jurisdictions

you gotta enjoy being social to start because, practically, you’re gonna go on a lot of first dates and not everyone is going to be a match or a great time. you gotta just be interested in people in general so that even if the match isn’t The One you still have a pleasant experience for the couple hours you’re with them
only if it’s the Mass parts bc Musicam Sacram allows you to sing the Mass ordinary without the propers
We recited the Kyrie & Gloria at the parish we visited recently but had 4 hymns + the Sanctus & Agnus sung…

To add to the point of the thread, consider how the clergy invariably respond to disorder today. They say people shouldn't cause mayhem and loot, sure, but the state is always supposed to respond to the people's "legitimate grievances", etc.

But the protests in France are not legitimate. The grievances are contrived. The disturbers of the peace are not good faith actors. The obligation of the French government is to restore order; not doing so is a violation of the dignity of those whom they are entrusted to govern.
You don’t have to like it but it’s not unconstitutional if it’s Australia serving it re: Australian affairs
No more so than the U.S. trying to extend its reach against its enemies

i tend to have a bit of a pandora’s box, “when it’s out, it’s out,” instinct about social ills, but i think we’ll really crack down on sports betting in my lifetime.
the utter contempt for the industry that i see from college kids, older folks, nanny state libs such as yours truly, social conservatives — all very heartening.
New font for free (license to be checked by me later) released by the Holy See, professionally designed, taken from Michelangelo’s handwriting.
It’s lovely. Has all but one character needed for liturgical typesetting.

Now: the drawbacks
No æ with accent aigu. No old-style numbers. Not clear if proportional and lining figures are available. I hope that it’s just the former.
But for most of you, it’s very good. I could easily fix the missing ae in LaTeX at least, which is handy.
However cc @legalstyleblog in LaTeX there’s an easy way to fix the glyph without redesigning the font/violating a license.
