Education is nuanced and improving outcomes depends on supporting the whole child all the way through graduation, funding the institution, and making all opportunities available. If your whole policy is anchored to flunking nine-year-olds, your policy sucks.

Michigan House Republicans consider fixing Inkster’s Community Center roof to be “waste,” “fraud,” and “abuse,” so they clawed back the funding Inkster was set to receive to fix the roof. This is what happened last night at the Dozier community center. The new roof installation was supposed to start Monday. Inkster’s mayor and residents are devastated.

Spent some time yesterday with about 1,000 friends as we exercised our first amendment right at the No Kings rally near Schoolcraft College.

Yesterday, alongside my colleagues @RanjeevPuri & @ReggieMillerMI, I joined thousands of western Wayne residents who showed up in a big way in Canton to make their voices heard. We lined the sidewalk along Canton Center & streets across the country to tell Donald Trump, #HandsOff

Donald Trump is eliminating the Department of Education. MI House Republicans just voted to cut $5B from our schools and defund our colleges and universities. Makes you wonder why the GOP is so adamantly against educating the next generation. 🤔

Today has marked the last day of knocking doors for this campaign. As a team, we knocked over 45,000 doors. As an Individual, I knocked over 11,500 doors, setting a new personal record for myself (previous was 10,000). 🧵 1/2

Thank you to every volunteer and campaign staffer who helped us get to this point. Thank you to every voter we talked with. Hearing your concerns and how you need to be represented is what enables me to represent you. Being accessible and responsive: that’s why we win!
