Herman Mashaba is a groupie, and I can see that I have touched some nerves by telling the truth about the Black Like Me businessman and leader of ActionSA. Let us talk about the company he keeps and the people he publicly admires. Former Deputy National Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Shadrack Sibiya has faced serious criminal charges, including rape, human trafficking, sexual grooming of a minor and negligent handling of a firearm. He resigned from the SAPS on 12 October 2026 amid disciplinary proceedings. These are serious allegations that must be decided by the courts. Then there is Tumisho, who was arrested in connection with allegations of abusing his ex-wife, yet Herman Mashaba says he is inspired by him. Imagine publicly declaring inspiration for someone whose conduct towards women has raised such serious concerns. How can you position yourself as a moral authority while celebrating personalities facing such questions? We must also talk about Zandile Dabula, the former leader of Operation Dudula who is now associated with ActionSA. Her leadership of the organisation and the controversies surrounding its activities in Soweto and other parts of Gauteng deserve scrutiny. If there are allegations of extortion against her, they must be examined with evidence and accountability. But the contradictions do not end there. Herman Mashaba is a businessman who built the Black Like Me brand, yet his political and ideological positions deserve the same scrutiny as those of any other public figure. His admiration for the Oppenheimer family also raises questions about the economic system he supports, considering South Africa's history of concentrated wealth, racial inequality and the economic marginalisation of Black people. And now, when it comes to the Johannesburg mayoral candidate debates, the question must be asked: where is Herman Mashaba? Why should voters not expect a leader seeking to govern Johannesburg to stand before them, defend his party's programme and answer difficult questions directly? If Ayanda Ali represents ActionSA at a debate, that is her right, but voters are entitled to ask why Mashaba himself is not there to account for his political ambitions and vision for the city. You cannot constantly position yourself as a moral authority, criticise other political leaders and demand accountability from everyone else while leaving voters questioning your own willingness to face public scrutiny. To those who are busy insulting me, insult me however you want. Call me whatever you wish. I feel no shame, no pain and no intimidation because I have spoken my mind. What concerns me is seeing people abandon critical thinking simply because they are emotionally attached to a political leader. If you disagree with me, bring facts and engage the argument. Defend your leader with evidence instead of attacking the person asking questions. Herman Mashaba, in my view, is behaving like a political groupie, celebrating certain personalities while positioning himself as a moral authority over others. You can insult me all you want. I will continue asking questions.

Herman Mashaba is forever shaking and hiding when it's time to go face Dr Tlaleng in public debates but has a lot to say behind a keyboard. SMH.

The EFF mayoral candidates have been exceptional in all the debates, yet there is a fool on podcasts wanting people to believe that our public representatives are clueless after he fielded a criminal and Papa Penny.

24hour clinic is a problem? Insourcing workers is a problem? Helping/formalising informal traders is a problem? Ensuring SASSA beneficiary dont buy electricity is a problem? Building municipal capacity is a problem? These are some of the points EFF is hated for.

You sounded very disappointed that he said the EFF is stable.
NEW EXPLAINER: There have been a bunch of election polls out and it can be quite confusing. I sat down with @GvanOnselen to unpack political polls in effort to understand: do they matter all. youtube.com/watch?v=rffkGCaY…

Jerry Skhosana saying he has never tasted VIP treatment and life in the suites until Kaizer Chiefs gave him a ticket really hurts when you think about the stuff he has done for Orlando Pirates.

In every single interview she has done over the past month, actual experts have asked her on her policy priorities and how she intends to fix Joburg and she has answered that, multiple times. At this point you’re not lazy, you’re just looking for attention.
You keep shoving your bio down our throats but can’t answer basic questions about what we really need to fix Joburg. Go do Tedtalks and speak at universities but running Joburg is not something you’re capable of doing.

Gayton was calling Black people the k word and they still voted for him because he yelled abahambe 🙃
now they’re saying Dr T should have wiped her social media and deleted tweets expressing comfort in her sexuality before campaigning but motherfuckers voted for Gayton despite his virulently racist tweets that he ONLY deleted when the backlash became intense.

Most people in France can't afford housing. They didn't blame immigrants, or transgender people, or video games, or avocado toast. They blame the government. Because that's who's responsible. That's always who's responsible.
