To say there's a housing crisis is a gross understatement, the ramifications of which will reverberate for years as people are forced to not have children because they can't afford to leave the family home.

It's not enough to hold a seat of office, it's necessary to distinguish oneself by overdelivering on expectations. No Taoiseach in my lifetime has even come close to achieving this. Based on Simon Harris' political career to date I don't see him remotely bucking this trend.
It's nigh on impossible for a 37 year old who entered the Dail at 24 on a 90k salary and who never had to exist and work on an average salary in the real world, to appreciate the struggle of his fellow citizens. Since becoming a TD in 2011 Harris has earned circa 1.4 million.
I always check if food I'm buying has palm as an ingredient, if it does I don't buy it. Simple.

The technology has existed for years, the first gatso camera was invented in 1965, its deeply irresponsible to drive recklessly but its equally irresponsible if authorities refuse to save lives by not installing lifesaving technology on our roads
What happened when Philadelphia installed traffic cameras that automatically ticket cars going >11 mph over the speed limit?
⬇️ Total crashes
⬇️ Traffic injuries
⬇️ Crash deaths
⬇️ Pedestrian injuries
We should be using automatic enforcement everywhere.

Election posters, a pet hate of mine, an archaic practice well past being necessary. Posters are an eyesore, a distraction and an obscene waste of plastic. Constituency candidates should appear together on existing billboards for 1 week prior to election day. End of.
Interesting if unscientific poll on whether people have ever been breathalysed. 40% of respondents say they've never been breathalysed, if you were to extrapolate this figure across the country's 3 million drivers, that's 1.2 million drivers who've never been breathalysed.
Replying to @GardaTraffic
I've been driving for many years, I've never once been breathalysed,
Have you ever been breathalysed ?

A 31 % increase in road deaths in ireland since 2019, the worst in Europe.
Remember what the gardai said recently, 'enforcement is the last resort', we're seeing the fruit of that apathy now.
Someone needs to be sacked, alas it won't happen.
