As the parent of 2.5 and 6 year old girls: Mill Ridge park in Antioch is awesome. You gotta check it out if you haven't been out there yet.

My "empty" bus helped 30 Nashvillians get into and around downtown this morning 🤷‍♂️

I walked down this road with my high school students 9 hours before this happened. It is a common route for Hume-Fogg students walking to WeGo central, 5th and Broad, or other nearby restaurants.
One person has died & several others are hospitalized after a reported drunk driver runs off the road in busy Downtown Nashville. @WKRN 📍4th Ave & Commerce wkrn.com/news/local-news/nas…

Idk who needs to hear this, but call your Internet service provider. I just got my speed more than tripled, my monthly cost dropped, and a visa gift card. If you haven't done this recently, you really should.

In other news, our traffic calming project voting with @NashvilleDOT was supposed to close on June 14th, but has no results yet.
I just got passed on my residential street while driving 25mph (the speed limit).

Parenting is just making one crazy-sounding decision after another. Today, after much thought, I decided NOT to install a baby gate blocking our laundry closet to protect the broom from our toddler. But I seriously considered it.

Shout out to the @HumeFoggKnights math department (@CalcuChris) for jumping on the @WeGoTransit bus with meto get to graduation! And so fun to run into @SandraForNash!
Council member @SandraForNash rode with us today downtown to attend council meetings. The ease of riding downtown, quick boarding with QuickTicket, not having to worry about parking and enjoying A/C! Thank you for riding with us this afternoon! #rollwithwego #nashville

has anyone tried the “Scandinavian sleeping” thing where each partner has their own blanket & no flat sheet? my partner recommended it a while back but I didn’t think it was a good idea. we slept with our own comforters last night & omg this is a game changer 😂

Attn: early career teachers!
BREAKING: The Department of Labor has raised the overtime threshold. The new rule says that everyone who makes under $58,656 and works over 40 hours a week must be paid time-and-a-half. That increases the threshold dramatically from $35,568. substack.perfectunion.us/p/t…

I sold a bike trailer to a guy today. Also let him try out my electric bike, and I think we have a new convert!

As I drove along Nolensville Rd this morning between Harding and Thompson Lane I saw 12 people waiting at bus stops. And I didn't start counting until after the big stop by Walmart near Harding.

Thankfully Nashville has clearly labeled the boundaries of the business district and has provided appropriate and safe bike infrastructure so people on bikes don't need to use the sidewalk, right?
Metro Code does prohibit riding bicycles on the sidewalk but only in business districts. That being said, a majority of road users are routinely violating rules that put others at risk (speeding, phone usage) so even in a biz district I'm not sure this should be the focus

When you read the replies to this post, you realize that people truly have no concept of people on bikes having equal rights to the road. All of their arguments boil down to: people in cars have a right to be there, people on bikes do not. Even about the bike lane!

My bus moved 27 people downtown today without taking up any parking, and substantially less contribution to traffic than 27 separate cars. Buses make commutes better for everyone.
