🇳🇱 **THE NETHERLANDS MAY VOTE TO EXPEL THE ICC FROM ITS OWN TERRITORY**
The Dutch parliament is scheduled to vote on October 13 on a proposal to withdraw from the International Criminal Court (ICC) and expel it from the Netherlands.
The government opposes the move. Foreign Minister Tom Berendsen has reaffirmed support for the court following U.S. sanctions against it.
** The irony is striking: the ICC is headquartered in the Netherlands, yet its future presence is now facing a political challenge from within its host country.
**If international justice can be undermined by political pressure, one question remains: who holds powerful states accountable when the institutions designed to do so are weakened?**
