The bike lobbyists are really mad because this bicycle rider had to pay attention and then slow down to a stop for a truck making a turn.
Just like literally everyone else who uses the road has to do sometimes.
The entitlement is off the charts with these people. This is a city, and in a city we all have to deal with certain minor inconveniences.
Yet these people invariably throw a tantrum when presented with any slight delay for completely normal city things, like the presence of other humans who are not also riding bicycles.

Note all the people just casually walking who do not flinch, slow down or change course as they are approached by people on bicycles because they know the difference between a real threat (cars) and someone who is as vulnerable as they are (bikes) who is not going to hit them.

I love this time of year but it sucks that when I open my windows for fresh air I have to hear selfish drivers honking all day and into the night.
An account that blocked me said that 18th and Broadway is not pedestrian friendly and the evidence was a calm video that is 100x better than any car centric Manhattan Avenue lol. Bikes truly have broken these people's brains.

For #UNGA NYC creates a lane on 42nd so leaders can get around. It’s done w/o any consideration for how NYers get around, as sidewalks are blocked, too. A dedicated bus or walk lane would take years of public hearings to achieve this. Why can’t the people get the same treatment?

After a series of tragic pedestrian deaths across Manhattan, it's time we take bold action to protect Manhattanites.
That's why I'm supporting Majority Leader @ShaunAbreu's bill to pilot Low-Traffic Neighborhoods, or LTNs, across the city.
The bill would require the City to install at least two different types of traffic-calming devices in five city neighborhoods, like speed humps, medians or barriers at intersections to force drivers to slow down.

It’s weird that car activists use the 3rd Ave bike lane as an example of poor planning. It’s heavily used!! There’s frequently as many cyclists as cars!

Maddening that NYC seemingly dedicates more state capacity to policing windows in historic districts than preventing auto-body shops from obstructing the sidewalk.
This block is right on the way to the Broadway Junction subway station!
Paving and re-striping York Ave in Manhattan and keeping it as a 6 lane highway is a complete dereliction of duty by the DOT.
@nick_benson @vinbarone @JeremyMarrell why are we locking in outdated street design? Is this a progressive administration or not? Do we believe in climate change or not? Do we care about giving people safe ways to move around or is it cars first just like the last 100 years?
