Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has stormed past the Rs 400-crore mark worldwide within four days of its release, delivering another major milestone for Tamil cinema. The Nelson Dilipkumar directorial has collected an estimated Rs 424.25 crore worldwide, with a strong Sunday showing pushing its total beyond the landmark figure.
The film has also outperformed Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2 to claim the biggest overseas opening-day collection among Indian films released in 2026, according to trade tracker Sacnilk’s comparison of overseas openers.

Jailer 2 was a great reminder that no one can ever come close to being Rajnikanth on screen.
When he lights that cigar in the second half, you know that there will never be another.
There can never be another.

#Sivaji was the first Tamil film to cross $5M gross overseas, eventually collecting around $8.9M. #Enthiran took things to the next level, becoming the first Tamil film to cross the $10M and $15M marks.
Then came #2Point0, with #Rajinikanth once again making history as the first Tamil film to cross $20M and $25M overseas. It still holds the record with a phenomenal $25.54M gross.
Looking at the outstanding trend of #Jailer2, a $20M plus opening weekend is all set, with the film on course to take Tamil cinema into the $30M overseas gross club for the very first time.
More than 50 years in the industry, yet Thalaivar continues to push boundaries and set new benchmarks at the box office. No one in Indian cinema has done it quite like him at this age, and perhaps no one ever will.
Many come and go, but the one and only #Rajinikanth continues to reign supreme. UNREAL LONGEVITY. UNMATCHED STARDOM. OG GOAT. 🙏🏼🛐

What is the Thalaivar impact? ❤️🔥
Just three hours of magic… and suddenly, life feels beautiful for millions of people.
People are celebrating as though they've won in life. Spoke to hundreds of people, and the collective emotion is simply overwhelming. It's something you have to witness to believe.
Saw grown men crying tears of joy, screaming in sheer happiness, and children celebrating him as though he belongs to their own generation.
Decades have passed. Generations have changed. Yet the love, the madness, the emotion… only grows stronger.
That's not just stardom. That's an emotion. That's THALAIVAR! ❤️🔥
REPEAT! 🔥
