We flew over Hurricane Milton about 90 minutes ago. Here is the view out the Dragon Endeavour window. Expect lots of images from this window as this is where I’m sleeping while we wait to undock and return to Earth.

Future #Idalia in the Gulf next week?
After meeting with my colleague @JaymeKingFox35 for an extended exchanging of notes, we concluded that we'll see a threat for the middle of next week as a tropical system impacts our general region.
As of lunchtime:
The most agressive models spin-up a minimal hurricane for the Florida panhandle Wednesday. (GFS) This model really came around fast, and is subject to change.
The least aggressive models spin-up a tropical storm closer to our region Tuesday night and Wednesday, with several inches of rain, a tornado threat and gusts to 40-50mph. (EURO) This model has been most consistant.
Don't let guard down as things do change fast with these types of systems, so stay with the @FOX35Orlando @FOX35StormTeam for the latest.
Curiously in history, "I" storms have been of the most impactful and most retired letter in the alphabet. They typically happen toward the peak of the season, when hurricanes are strongest. There's no indication in the models so far that this one would be historic like those in the list above, but Gulf water temps are hot.
Since 2001, 11, "I" hurricanes have been retired.
Ian 2022, Ida 2021, Irma 2017, Ingrid 2013, Irene 2011, Igor 2010, Ike 2008, Ivan 2004, Isabel 2003, Isidore 2002, Iris 2001
