Yesterday I overheard a teenage boy say to his friend 'Don't tell them I'm a Muslim, I'll get hate.' This is what we've come to in '24.
Just popping on here to share a recommendation of this excellent powerful collection by Rachel Mann. @Carcanet

Was very sad to hear of the passing of Geoff Hattersley yesterday. I loved his poetry... and I never got to hear him read in public. 😔 His sad/funny tone reflected working class life beautifully.

And the day comes to a close with the hot water tap exploding and steaming hot water filling the kitchen... under control now, I hope.
I have a new poem on @LondonGrip today, on my mother's first daughter and the sister I nearly had. Great to read work from @Emma_Lee1 and @fierydes in there too. londongrip.co.uk/2024/05/lon…
