H.E. President @edmnangagwa hosted potential investors at a business dinner in New York on the margins of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly. The main objective was to connect Zimbabwe with global capital and create business networks. The Chairman of the Victoria Falls International Financial Centre, Mr Marc Holtzman, said Zimbabwe’s ongoing economic reforms are increasingly opening up new opportunities for global capital. Speaking after a Business Dinner, Mr Holtzman said the engagement brought together 35 senior investors, with half attending to explore and assess Zimbabwe’s investment opportunities for the first time. Mr Holtzman said President Mnangagwa’s presentation at the Business Forum on reforms underway in mining, services, banking and monetary policy generated strong interest among the investors. “The business opportunities are amazing. This is Africa’s century and within Africa it is Zimbabwe’s time,” he said. He said Zimbabwe’s reforms were contributing to growing interest from American, European and other international investors, while changing perceptions about the country’s investment environment. He said reforms in the mining sector, monetary policy and efforts to stabilise the currency were among developments attracting renewed investor attention.

🇿🇼🇿🇼🇿🇼🤝🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 This Tuesday evening, in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Hon. Prof. dr. Amon Murwira, met with the U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Mr. Frank Garcia, to explore deep, wide-ranging avenues to reset and strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries. Guided by a shared interest in economic diplomacy, expanding this structural partnership directly improves the livelihoods of the peoples of both nations across several key areas: 𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡: Deepening economic ties and creating predictable trade channels will enable local Zimbabwean companies to access lucrative American markets, directly expanding local employment across the agriculture, mining, and manufacturing value chains. 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡-𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: By working closely with Washington to simplify investment frameworks, Zimbabwe can attract critical U.S. private sector financing to modernise its mining sector, domestic transport networks, expand renewable energy grids, and boost industrial capacity. 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬, 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞: Widening diplomatic relations directly enhances existing academic and professional exchange programs between American and Zimbabwean researchers, students, and engineers and this facilitates vital technology sharing, skills development, and localized innovation under Zimbabwe's Heritage-Based Education 5.0 framework. 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬: Enhanced bilateral dialogue paves the way for direct partnerships in climate-resilient technologies and advanced agricultural mechanization, safeguarding the livelihoods of smallholder farmers and stabilizing local food supply. This constructive engagement marks a significant milestone for the Second Republic’s economic diplomacy thrust, proving that expanding mutual respect and direct commercial dialogue can unlock real, long-term economic prosperity for citizens at home and abroad. Under the leadership of H.E. President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, Zimbabwe pursues a “𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐍𝐨𝐧𝐞” foreign policy, grounded in non-judgemental, non-adversarial engagement and mutual respect, with diplomacy focused on advancing national interests and improving the livelihoods and prosperity of its people.

Victoria Falls International Financial Centre (VFIFC) has awarded 38 new licences, marking a major step in transforming the Centre from a regulatory framework into a fully functioning financial services ecosystem. The second cohort brings together participants across securities dealing, asset and fund management, investment advisory, collective investment funds and schemes, trustees, custody and wallet services and transfer secretarial services. The new cohort also includes Zambezi Digital Exchange, Zimgarn Exploration and Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe Advisory, further broadening the range of financial and investment activities taking place through the VFIFC. The licences strengthen Zimbabwe’s capacity to attract foreign direct investment and sophisticated international capital, underpinned by a legal and regulatory framework designed to provide investors with greater certainty, protection and confidence. The VFIFC is also helping deepen Zimbabwe’s capital markets. The Victoria Falls Stock Exchange (VFEX) has recorded significant growth, with market capitalisation now exceeding US$8 billion, including landmark listings in infrastructure and manufacturing. Beyond attracting capital, the Centre is creating opportunities for financial innovation, fintech, asset management, insurance, capital markets, arbitration and dispute resolution, strengthening Zimbabwe’s position within the regional financial services ecosystem. Government’s commitment is to provide a stable and predictable policy environment, while continuously refining regulatory frameworks and incentives where necessary to ensure the VFIFC remains competitive with comparable international jurisdictions. The 38 licences are more than regulatory approvals, they are a vote of confidence in Zimbabwe’s financial future. Each successful participant, transaction and investment strengthens the Centre’s credibility and helps position VFIFC as a regional financial hub and catalyst for economic growth.
