A lot of people like to talk about the “stablecoin sandwich” mentioned in the latest BIS research, but there’s a significant amount of misinformation being spread, and many people aren’t explaining the full scope of what this research actually reveals.. … and I think it’s important that we address this because there’s so much more to the document than one section. The BIS itself acknowledges that stablecoins are NOT a complete solution to cross border payments. Why? Because transferring a stablecoin across a blockchain does NOT eliminate the underlying problems.. Foreign exchange liquidity Limited market depth Currency conversion costs Prefunded capital Intermediaries Institutional scalability Settlement complexities Now ask yourself something.. what has Ripple spent over a decade building infrastructure to address? These EXACT problems.. and what was XRP designed to do?? Serve as a bridge asset, allowing value to move between different currencies without relying exclusively on traditional correspondent banking arrangements. The BIS doesn’t have to explicitly mention XRP for us to recognize the significance of these findings.. the research identifies the problems. Ripple and XRP offer the solution. Remember.. stablecoins can move digital dollars.. but moving digital dollars is NOT the same as solving global foreign exchange and liquidity. I find particularly interesting.. the BIS acknowledges that stablecoin FX markets still face liquidity constraints, especially when dealing with larger institutional transactions. We’re talking about a global foreign exchange market processing trillions of dollars daily. Moving tokens quickly is only one piece of a much larger financial infrastructure. This is why I’ve maintained my conviction in XRP’s long term utility. I don’t believe the future is necessarily stablecoins versus XRP. Both will play important roles. The opportunity isn’t simply faster payments… it’s becoming part of the liquidity infrastructure that connects the global financial system. This is why I believe XRP will eventually flip Bitcoin. REAL utility. We’re talking about an asset designed to serve an actual economic purpose within the global financial system, not one whose value is driven predominantly by speculation.
