Great job @MunozEspin_Lab and colleagues, eager to hear it at IRCM and @ICM_Montpellier at your visit in June!
Thrilled to share the latest paper from a collaboration between our lab @MunozEspin_Lab @EarlyCancerCam and @FrukLab, and published today in @NatureAging

Senescence links regeneration to oncogenic vulnerability. Our latest work demonstrates that senescence drives postpartum mammary involution while simultaneously creating a transient microenvironment permissive for tumor initiation. #senescence, #postpartum, #breastcancer

Look at this interesting work from @MaraverLab! FMO as a novel target for lung cancer. Congrats to the whole team! 👇🏻👇🏻
Thrilled to present our study aiming to identify new vulnerabilities in lung cancer: biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/… Joining forces from mouse genetics, thoracic oncology, metabolism, and AlphaFold fields we dissected the role of a largely unknown but essential protein in cancer, FMO4 🧵

As you know, ferroptosis inhibitors are still far from being used in the clinic, but our findings provide a new way to sensitize cells against them which could facilitate their clinical translation, at least to treat the leading cause of death by cancer in the world, i.e., lung.

Indeed life wasn't designed, if not prostate and urinary system would be a bit better separated 😅 although it might be that the X algorithm will not like this crazy idea Alejo 🤣🤣
Life wasn’t designed. It evolved to be only as perfect as it needs to be to pass on the seed. We never evolved efficient ways to get rid of things that accumulate very slowly: misfolded proteins, misfolded chromatin, cancer driver mutations, etc., which kill us when we’re “old”.
