SAED: Corp Members Creating Wealth The NYSC Skill Acquisition & Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme, aimed at equipping corps members with practical skills for entrepreneurship and self-reliance during and after service, concluded last Friday ; and it is indeed an impressive initiative. I joined the ICT track, powered by @MakintouchLtd (an AWS Partner), where we were introduced to Cloud Computing, Web Development, Project Management, and Data Analysis, among others. The core idea is simple: spark interest during orientation camp, then give corps members something tangible to build on afterward. However, while reviewing the ICT curriculum, I noticed something missing. There is a Blockchain Technology section listed under ICT, but there was no actual class for it. I had hoped to connect with like-minded corps members already in the blockchain space - to learn, unlearn, grow, and strengthen networks; but that opportunity didn’t exist. That got me thinking. SAED tutors are seasoned professionals, and Blockchain deserves the same level of structure and expertise. Not as a buzzword, but as a properly taught skillset - one that can spark genuine interest, provide clarity, and onboard more Nigerians into the space with the right foundation. So the question became: Which community is best positioned to make this happen? For me, the answer is @SuperteamNG. In my opinion, no other blockchain community in Nigeria currently has a more solid, functional structure. Many communities are either imitating or refining what SuperteamNG has already built. Why SuperteamNG makes sense: ➣ Proven ability to execute partnerships (e.g., Nigeria’s first structured blockchain course in partnership with NiYA). ➣ Home to seasoned professionals working across top global blockchain ecosystems. ➣ Strong leadership driving execution and growth ( Dr. Harri Obi @Harri_obi, Sir Nzube @NzubeEzudo, and the broader team). ➣ State chapters across Nigeria ; making it feasible to reach NYSC camps nationwide. ➣ A strong culture of mentorship, bootcamps, and skill-based growth. ➣ Builders of real blockchain products by Nigerian youth, for the global market. ➣ Alignment with Solana’s talent-first philosophy: earning your first crypto through skills, not speculation. Beyond education, this also creates a channel for blockchain projects to showcase their products to thousands of corps members, driving real adoption and traction. This is just my opinion, but I genuinely hope SuperteamNG explores this opportunity - leveraging SAED as a pathway to responsibly onboard Nigerians into the blockchain space. Overall, SAED remains a fantastic initiative. Big kudos to NYSC for the vision and execution.
