Today in Wainwright with @dckurek, I met with Mayor Bruce Pugh, Fire Chief Aime Smyl, Deputy Fire Chief Wade Pillman, MLA Garth Rowswell and Reeve Mike Wildeboer of the MD of Wainwright to hear directly from the people leading this community through the tragedy at CFB Wainwright.
Our hearts are with the families of the service members we lost, and with everyone injured and still fighting for their lives. These are men and women who put on the uniform to protect our country. Their families deserve our prayers and our support.
To the firefighters, paramedics, nurses, doctors and soldiers who ran toward the fire and worked through the night: thank you. Wainwright and its base have always been critically interlinked. In the worst of moments, this community showed exactly who it is.
Conservatives will stand with Wainwright, our troops, and their families for as long as it takes.

Why is Vancouver International Airport flying the Musqueam Indian Band flag right next to the Canadian and British Columbian flags?
Musqueam is a small band with a reserve population of fewer than 700 people. Musqueam like calling themselves a "nation," but what makes them a nation? Do they have their own passports, economy, healthcare and education systems, army, police force, first responders, and infrastructure? Did they build the airport?
No, but they get a share of the airport's revenue and rely on Canada and B.C. to provide all these services.

Most Canadians have never heard of the Interim Federal Health Program.
They’re paying for it.
It covers asylum claimants who don’t qualify for provincial health care. Doctors and hospitals, plus prescriptions, dental, vision and mental health counselling.
It cost $74 million in 2016. For 2024-25, Ottawa set aside $790 million.
Hotel rooms for claimants have cost another $1.1 billion since 2017.
And the CBSA says over 30,000 people are in line to be removed.
The bill keeps growing. So does the line.

I lived in Paris 20 years ago, already there were no-go zones. I visited Marseilles 10 years ago and was terrified to my core.
I have gone back to France most years since and been even more scared as the no-go zones on the outskirts encroached more and more on the city centres.

These scenes should show how close we are to Paris. It's only a matter of time. Montreal and Toronto will burn soon. The protests there are already violent and extremely anti-Semitic. There is anarchy in the air. Islamism and radical-leftist ideology has encroached our universities and institutions and its only purpose is to destroy Canada.
