On behalf of the people of West Bengal, I extend my sincere gratitude to the Central Government under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji and Hon’ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways Shri @nitin_gadkari Ji for their crucial support in revamping the road network across our state.
For decades, the road infrastructure across West Bengal suffered severe neglect and dilapidated conditions emerged under previous administrations. Rebuilding and modernizing this vital connectivity remains a top priority for our State's economic progress and the safety of our commuters.
We welcome the approval of ₹508.66 crore dedicated to the strengthening and selective widening of vital national highway stretches in Birbhum district.
📢West Bengal🛣️
In West Bengal, we have approved ₹508.66 Cr. for strengthening and selective widening of NH-14 and NH-114 in Birbhum district. The project covers 91.90 km of NH-14 from Bhimgarh to Nalhati via Mallarpur and 56.40 km of NH-114 from Surul Village to Mallarpur.
The upgraded corridors will improve road safety, ease congestion, reduce travel time, facilitate smoother movement of people and goods, and strengthen connectivity between villages, towns and key economic centres.
The project will also support regional trade, local businesses and economic activity while providing safer and more efficient journeys for commuters and freight operators.

Thank you, Hon’ble MP Smt. @MaliahJune Ji, for your kind words and warm wishes. It was our privilege to welcome you and all Hon’ble Members of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture to our Net-Zero campus, along with Vice Chancellor Professor @Sachin_Chat Ji.
Your reflections on Nalanda’s timeless legacy are much appreciated. We look forward to continuing this shared journey of knowledge and learning.
My study visit with the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture to Nalanda University, Rajgir, was a truly enriching and memorable experience.
We were warmly welcomed by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sachin Chaturvedi, faculty and students. Their warmth and gracious hospitality touched us deeply. The delicious lunch, felicitation and insightful discussions on the University made the visit even more special.
Being at Nalanda, with its glorious legacy of knowledge and learning, filled me with immense pride and gratitude.
My heartfelt best wishes to Nalanda University. May it continue to uphold its timeless legacy, emerge as a global centre of knowledge and inspire generations to come. Wishing the entire Nalanda family great success and glory in the years ahead.
