Next challenge is to understand how hybrid assembly lines formed by non-ribosomal peptide synthases and dimeric PKS are organized - in vitro and in cells #teamtomo
Residual flexibility limits the resolution obtained for the overall assembly, but we reconstructed individual KS domains in the bimodule context at high resolution. This may eventually lead us to visualize chemistry and substrate handover as it happens inside a multimodular PKS.
