Every time I transferred points from a bank to a frequent flyer program, the same anxiety kicked in.
Award seats don't wait. You find availability, and now the clock is ticking: how long until my points actually land as miles?
Banks don't tell you this upfront. Sometimes it's a day. Sometimes it's instant. You find out after you've hit transfer, which is exactly when it's too late to plan around it.
That's one of the things we set out to change with Magnify. Every transfer partner shows its TAT upfront, right on the app.
Have we always hit it? No. There were times unforeseen errors made us miss our committed TAT, and we made it up to users with Mag Miles back. But the commitment stays visible, always.
Here's what that commitment looks like in practice: Air India transfers used to carry a 10-hour TAT. For the last week, we've been completing them within 5 hours, and most land in 2 to 3. So we've cut the stated TAT in half. We can't be instant yet (we're working with the airline on that), but we'll keep pushing.
When your miles land on time, you can actually plan the rest of your trip. That's the whole point.

One thing that's been bugging me about our own app: when a gift card brand goes out of stock on @MagnifyClub , we show it as "coming soon." Sounds fine, except it puts the burden entirely on you to keep checking back. Not great.
We just shipped a fix - a Notify Me button. One tap, and we'll ping you when the card is back in stock. You pick whether you want an email or a push notification.
It's the kind of feature that sounds obvious in hindsight, but I've personally felt the pain of checking back three times for a Swiggy card that was out of stock. No more of that.
