I walked off of death row exactly 15 years ago this morning. Thank you. It wouldn’t have happened without you.
One of the biggest lessons I learned is that there will be times when every piece of available evidence tells you that something is impossible. That the door is closed, and the odds are against you. You can’t see a way forward. But not being able to see a way through is not the same thing as there being no way through. We have a habit of treating our present circumstances as if they were permanent, when life is constantly changing. Sometimes the only thing required of you is to stay on your feet long enough for something you cannot yet see to become possible.
You don’t need to know how the story ends. You only need to deal with what is directly in front of you and refuse to surrender your will to circumstances. Take the next step. Then take another. There will be times when continuing seems irrational, when nothing appears to be working and there is no evidence that it ever will. Keep going anyway. An impossible situation only becomes a final one when YOU decide there are no more moves to make.

75-year-old Sonny Burton never killed anyone.
He’s wheelchair-bound, severely ill, and now faces execution by nitrogen gas in Alabama.
Why him — but not the more culpable co-defendant?

My thoughts are with the families of the 457 courageous and patriotic British soldiers who gave their lives in Afghanistan and who served in some of the most dangerous places in the world. Their contribution will never be forgotten.

Sir Rod Stewart slams Donald Trump:
“I was born just after the war and I have great respect for our armed forces that fought and gave us our freedom. So it hurts me badly, deeply, when I read that draft dodger Trump has criticised our troops in Afghanistan for not being on the front line…
So I’m calling on you, Prime Minister Starmer and Farage, please make the draft dodger Trump apologise. Please.”

If you claim to support human rights yet can’t bring yourself to show solidarity with those fighting for their liberty in Iran, you’ve revealed yourself. You don’t give a damn about people being oppressed and brutalised so long as it’s being done by the enemies of your enemies.

As an Iranian & liberal, I don’t know how to say this any clearer:
Stop making the Iranian revolution about who YOU like or don’t like politically in the west.
U either support freedom from a murderous oppressive regime or u don’t; & if u do just support Iranians. That’s it.
