Just in case anyone still thinks Burnham represents “change”…
#BBCLauraK: "Are you willing to make big cuts.. some people in your party might think it looks like a return to austerity, you're looking at maybe 6% of cuts to some govt departments" John Healey: "In this budget we've already demonstrated we are prepared to take hard decisions"

Ahead of what will clearly be a coordinated assault on Zack Polanski - some basic facts. 1 - Yes, Polanski's own net approval ratings have dipped sharply in recent months. This is primarily the result of more people becoming aware of him and forming an opinion. His actual approval ratings have been remarkably steady and, at 19%, he remains considerably more popular than his party. 2 - By comparison Adrian Ramsay's approval rating when he was co-leader in June 2025 was 5%. 81% had either never heard of them or had never bothered to form an opinion. His fellow co-leader Carla Denyer was only marginally better on 9%. 3 - Reportedly 18,000 members have left in recent months. But this is in the context of an unprecedented surge in membership which took the party from 70k to close to quarter of a million members after Polanski became leader. 4 - The party now has more than 1300 local councillors, compared to less than 900 when Polanski became leader. 5 - Yes, the Greens have dipped in the polls recently. But even now they are at the same level they were when he became leader. And they are primarily victims of their own success having obliged the Labour Party to ditch Starmer - a level of influence the Greens could previously only dream of. 6 - The Zionism is racism motion is held up as having done huge damage to the party. An Opinium poll showed 56% of Green Party members supported it - and just 13% opposed it. A clear majority among all voters under 34 who expressed an opinion supported it. By any logical criteria, if your aim is for the Greens to become Britain's first genuinely radical, mass political party, capable of holding the balance of power in parliament, it makes no sense whatsoever to get rid of Polanski. It makes sense only if that is precisely what you don't want to happen. thetimes.com/uk/politics/art…

BREAKING : HIGH COURT RULING DRUMCREE: ORANGE ORDER PARADE REMAINS BANNED ON GARVAGHY ROAD. @AllisonMorris1 @BelTel Justice Scoffield has just upheld the decision made by The Secretary of State to ban the parade by Portadown District Orange Lodge from marching down the Nationalist Garvaghy Road. He has therefore dismissed the case made by the Orange Order who had appealed against the decision. The judge was satisfied that the chief constable referring the matter to the Secretary of State had not overstepped, & that the political considerations were not the significant and substantial reason for the referral, but rather that the Chief Constable had ‘sound policing reasons’. He said that it was not "irrational" that the Secretary of State had made the decision that he did, and that he had been faced with a "complicated" situation. The Judge said that the Orange Order was "not interested in a route that did not include Garvaghy Road". He said that The Secretary of State had to take into account the convention rights of both the protestors and the Orange Order but also the wider public disruption that was being caused. He said that the decision by the Secretary of State was therefore lawful however he also recognised that another authority had previously determined that a march could lawfully proceed. #garvaghyroad #drumcree #highcourt

“Have you spoken to any Palestinian organizations before you wrote your letter?” @ShehabKhan presses Labour MP Mike Tapp who reported the Green Party over its Zionism motion about whether he’s ever spoken to any Palestinians. Tapp: “I don’t know any Palestinian people.”

This is absolutely insane. The UK seems to have been involved in the kidnapping of Maduro - and the story spiked by an MOD D-Notice. The kidnapping was the most brazen act of criminality, and UK involvement would almost certainly have been given with Starmer's sign-off. A wretched, wreck of a PM. An unforgivable assault on international law.
🚨 A UK defence editor had information that UK Special Forces operating in Central America were involved in the US kidnapping of Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro in Jan 2026 Article was never published after UK military's 'D-Notice' censorship body told the editor to spike it

Looks like John Cleese has finally morphed into Basil Fawlty.
Every time I try to make a comment on traditional British values being overruled, I am barred from doing so This has happened so much that I assume my comments are being deliberately censored I would not have thought this was possible in this country

Yeah, this is just straightforwardly false. Based on a meme Tweet that has been debunked. I'm sure it's extremely comforting for Sopel to think that anger at his views and complicity in genocide is manufactured. The "free Palestine" is a Russian influence campaign. Pure slop.
‘It’s not that Russia is taking sides… they just want to sow division.’ Is it a coincidence that 'toxic' messages on Twitter have 'declined dramatically' since Ukraine bombed Russian data centres? @JonSopel shares his thoughts.

Nick Robinson's implicit argument is this: Yes, Israel has been judged an apartheid state by the world’s highest court and to be committing genocide according to leading authorities on the subject, but it still has an inviolable right to carry on exactly as it is. Robinson’s assumption is that Palestinians and their supporters should simply shut up and live with the fact that Israel has been slaughtering and maiming hundreds of thousands of Gaza’s people. His message: Nothing to see here. Who's being the extremist: Polanski or Robinson?
Why is this a difficult question to answer ?

MORNING UPDATE - GARVAGHY ROAD - THURSDAY - DAY 12 🪉🇮🇪 🔘 Everyday so far, has brought something different , but yesterday something changed. Something definitely changed... There is now frustration... And also annoyance... The British Secretary of State, Chris Bryant, has been virtually anonymous in the past week. Nowhere to be seen... There is still no High Court Judgement. The people are now taking action... 🔘 Yesterday Nationalist Residents Groups from all across the North of Ireland met in Portadown. A statement was issued. If the Orange Order continue to attempt to march down the Garvaghy Road then all other agreements about contentious parades across the North of Ireland will have to be revisited. Enough is enough... 🔘 The people are taking to the streets. Tomorrow (Friday) a protest will be held outside the NIO Offices in Belfast City Centre. And on Saturday, thousands will be taking to the streets. Three big rallies in three major locations; Belfast City Hall - 12pm. 🪉 Derry Guildhall - 12pm. 🪉 Newry Town Hall - 12pm. 🪉 Breandan Mac Cionnath will be Chief Speaker at the Derry Rally. (Derry the city famous for those Civil Rights rallies in the 1970's) - And yet here we are again... 🔘 Folk singer, John Spillane from County Cork came to the Garvaghy Road yesterday to entertain the people. The musicians never let the people down... The Garvaghy Road Residents also held a protest last night in support of the people of Palestine. 🇸🇩 🔘 Legendary American guitarist, musician and activist Tom Morello from RageAgainst The Machine added his name to the list supporting the Garvaghy Road Residents. 🔘 The Unionist Political Parties continue to call for the arrest of protestors and have submitted a "no confidence motion" in our First Minister Michelle O'Neill. It will not succeed... Unionism is now led by 3 Party Leaders who are all a throwback to the last Century of Unionist domination. Their anger, their outrage... There is no difference between any of them. They are so cocooned in their bubble that they cannot see what is happening - They are now disconnected from sizeable parts if their own Protestant community. Something is changing. People want something different... A new and better Ireland.... 🪉 We will see what today brings. Support the people. Attend the Rallies. Deliver a message.... 🟢 NO GOING BACK 🟢 NO SECOND CLASS CITIZENS

He served prison time for perjury after extracting enormous damages in a libel case which destroyed a woman's life. He also lied relentlessly about almost everything. But he was a great friend of the people that matter, and that, my friends, is all that matters in this country.
Very sad to have had to announce the death of my friend Jeffrey Archer on the show last night. A man of talents, flaws, positivity and bouncebackability, with a zest for life. He was a terrific interviewee. He sometimes invited me to his flat on Albert Embankment as he loved political gossip. His trilogy of Prison Diaries remain the best books of the last 20 years on what life is like in prison. He sold 350 million books in 47 languages in 114 countries but the literary cogniscenti always looked down their noses at him. I tried in vain to get him to write his autobiography. Yes, he sometimes lacked judgement, no he never achieved his aim to be a front rank politician, yes he did some bad things. But what a life. What. A. Life. @Jeffrey_Archer

GARVAGHY ROAD MORNING UPDATE - TUESDAY - DAY 10. 🪉🇮🇪 🔘 Firstly, there were a few attempts to silence this page yesterday but they did not succeed. Thousands of people have followed this page in the past week and I will continue to bring the real story about the (now) International campaign of support for the Garvaghy Road residents. We will not be silenced... ! ✊ 🔘 Yesterday the Court of Appeal in Belfast reserved judgement on the appeal submitted by residents against the previous High Court Decision. When will we hear the Judgement? Impossible to tell, but hopefully very soon bearing in mind the current serious situation. 🔘Over 20 MPs and members of the House of Lords in London have issued a letter in support of the Garvaghy Road residents. This follows letters of support from political leaders on Capitol Hill in the US and also from the European Parliament in Brussels. 🔘 Dublin City Council yesterday supported a Sinn Fein motion demanding that there is no march down the Garvaghy Road. Once again, it is great to see cross Party support backing the Residents. 🔘 On the Garvaghy Road yesterday, acclaimed Folk Singer Damian Dempsey from Dublin came along and played a fantastic set. The support from musicians across Ireland has been incredible. 🔘 The poliitical fallout continues... Political Unionism continues to call for the arrests of the residents and protestors. They are now out of touch with even significant parts of their own wider Protesrant community. They just never seem to learn...🤷‍♂️ 🔘 More updates will follow today. Thank you to everyone for the many kind messages of support yesterday. It means a lot... 👍 🟢 NO GOING BACK!

The Greens' historic call for Palestinian liberation can only be understood by MSM journalists through the prism of "Jewish feelings" This is a result of Israel lobby setting the terms of debate—and a deep racism among Britain's establishment journalists It's a vile spectacle

It's hard to see how the Green party's motion today will avoid an investigation by the EHRC, given Labour was previously found in breach.
