UGANET Joins the HIV Prevention Conversation Through Drama
Yesterday, 11 October, as we commemorated the International Day of the Girl Child, UGANET joined Hopestone Insight Uganda at the TEKO Dance Show under the theme “AWAKEN.”
Through drama, the event brought HIV prevention into focus, challenging the blame game surrounding new HIV infections and highlighting evolving HIV prevention choices and tools.
The message is clear: preventing new HIV infections requires informed choices, access to prevention options and collective responsibility. For girls and young people, bodily autonomy and the ability to make informed decisions about their health must remain central.
It is time to awaken, move beyond blame and prioritise HIV prevention.
