A building that was our home for almost three years was partially destroyed. My parents were discussing preparations for the difficult winter, when out of the blue, a missile struck 60 feet away from their windows. Wounded/killed TBD. This war is real and it didn’t go away.

2/ The report's main conclusion is uncomfortable: Ukraine is fighting more effectively than it has in years, yet its strategic position is deteriorating.

The Russian diesel deal stinks. There is nothing redeeming about it. The initial shipment alone is worth nearly half a billion dollars. Under the terms of the deal, the US could eventually give nearly $7 billion to Russia which is over 3 percent of Russia's defense budget. Russia is the side literally striking kindergartens with drones and missiles. Ukraine will pay for this in blood. We cannot credibly ask and demand that other countries make sacrifices to isolate Russia while cutting deals that sustain its war economy.

The fiancée of 1st Lt. Tyler Feehan is sharing an emotional tribute to the 25-year-old Army officer killed in action while serving in Jordan amid the conflict with Iran. "Tyler Feehan was my fiancé and the love of my life. His loss has devastated me beyond imagining, and there are no words that can truly capture the depth of that grief. To the world, Tyler was an Army officer. To those who knew and loved him, he was so much more. Serving others and standing up for what he believed in wasn't just a job. It was his purpose. Tyler embodied everything the Army values strive to represent: loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage. He didn't just wear those values on his uniform—he lived them every single day. Tyler looked up to Ted Lasso as an example of the kind of leader he wanted to be. He believed that leadership began with kindness, humility, and genuinely caring about people. It never mattered to him what someone's past was, their financial situation, their race, their gender, or their rank. He believed every person deserved dignity, compassion, and the opportunity to succeed. His soldiers meant everything to him. He went above and beyond to make sure they were prepared not only for their military careers but for life beyond the Army. Whether it was helping them understand their education benefits, teaching them about financial responsibility, or simply taking the time to listen when they needed someone, Tyler poured his heart into serving those under his leadership. Every day, he would come home and tell me stories about his soldiers. Their accomplishments, their struggles, and how proud he was of them. I hope each and every one of them knows just how much they meant to him. Outside of the Army, Tyler found joy in the little things that made him who he was. He loved building LEGO sets, cheering for the Atlanta Falcons, using Dr. Squatch soap and drinking Shatto Milk from Missouri. He loved to travel. After his military service, Tyler wanted to become a high school football coach. He wanted to mentor young people, teach them the game he loved, and help anyone willing to listen to understand personal finance so they could build a secure and successful future. Tyler believed in investing in people. His goal was to leave every person he met better than he found them. His legacy is not only one of service to his country but of compassion, generosity, and an unwavering belief in the goodness and potential of others. I know countless lives are forever changed because he chose to lead with his heart. The very last text message Tyler sent me before he died was simply, “I love you.” Those three words were perfect even if he didn’t know it at the time. This is the man he was. This is how I hope Tyler Feehan is remembered: not only as an exceptional Army officer, but as a man whose greatest strength was his heart. I will love him for the rest of my life, and I will do everything I can to honor the legacy he leaves behind." 1LT Tyler Feehan fiancé Claire Fletcher.

I’m convinced that you can get pretty far in life by just finishing things. The world is full of half-written books, half-built businesses, and half-kept promises. You stand out by showing up. By closing loops. By doing what you said you’d do. By having the courage to finish.

“RUS strikes against UKR cities and critical infrastructure will continue, making investment in air def and civ resilience as important as success at the front… Too many analysts remain focused on daily movement of the front line. They risk missing the larger strategic reality.”
We are increasingly seeing assessments by analysts, including European and now American ones, that Russia has lost the war. And the end of the war is near. The reason for this is the direct interpretation of the events by the Ukrainian and European information space, which is full of mentions of successes on the battlefield and strikes on Russian logistics and critical infrastructure. The media focuses on tactical achievements, and this is natural. More details about whether there are really prerequisites to expect an imminent end of the war, whether there can be winners in it, and why NATO's current approaches have no prospects – in the article telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2…

Belarus very well might be (un)willingly aiding RU in its war effort, but UKR leadership needs to weigh the risks of expanding the war into another sovereign country — that might embolden RU aggression against UKR allies. Escalation almost always fosters more escalation.
Regarding Belarus. When the full-scale war began, we were hit by missiles that killed children and adults. And Alexander Lukashenko knows this. A large number of missiles were launched from Belarus. Back then, he called, apologized, and said it was out of his control. I don’t believe that, but that’s what he’s already said. Now, Russia will keep pushing him further into this war. Now, he understands that Ukraine will respond. There’s no need for extra words. There are retransmitters on his communication towers. On his territory, along the two regions bordering Ukraine, there is equipment that adjusts fire on our people. He should remove that equipment. I think a week is enough for him to do that. Because right now, every day, our civilians are being killed, and children are being wounded as a result of this. If he doesn’t do it, we will. The same goes for his oil-refining sector, for example. We are doing everything so that the Russians don’t have the ability to sell oil and supply diesel and fuel to their army. Today, Belarus is one of the key suppliers for the Russian army. Can this be stopped? I’m sure it’s within his power. And he is the one who controls it. As for the drone strike on a bus with Belarusian children, everyone has already acknowledged it – international experts and, it seems, even the Russians are admitting it wasn’t our strike. The Russians will resort to all sorts of provocations to drag the Belarusian people into this war. This is one of them. From the joint press interaction with the President of Honduras, Nasry Asfura. This flying tank roof is emblematic of Russia’s invasion — a self-inflicted glorious mess on the display for the whole world.
New footage confirms that an errant Russian surface to air missile was responsible for the tank roof toss at the Moscow Oil Refinery this morning.

Will there be a day when Russia bombs the cradle of Rus’ Christianity - Kyiv and targets the most iconic and sacred places like St. Sophia Cathedral, St. Michael’s Golden Dome Monastery, Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra? Putin - the great protector of all Orthodox wields power like Satan.

The US, Israel and Iran have all bumbled through this war and missed opportunities, but Pakistan deserves great credit for consistently working very hard as an intermediary for peace between capricious and obdurate enemies. Bravo, @CMShehbaz and COAS Munir.
We are closer to a peace deal than ever before. With finalisation likely expected in the next 24 hours, Pakistan is preparing for the electronic signing of the peace deal immediately after, followed by technical level talks next week. We would like to thank United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran for their ongoing commitment during the negotiations, and we extend our sincere appreciation to our brothers in the region for their support. We are confident that this historic peace deal will form a strong foundation for lasting peace. @realDonaldTrump @JDVance @SecRubio @SteveWitkoff @SEPeaceMissions @drpezeshkian @araghchi

The Ukrainian Constitution still guarantees “free development, use, and protection” of Russian language and other minority languages in UKR. First, I heard ppl say that “nobody’s persecuting RU lang in UKR,” now the argument is that it’s a “colonial lang anyway, so it’s alright”

Before she departs, Gabbard uses her platform and access to intelligence to perpetuate one of her and Russia’s favorite conspiracy theories, disingenuously twisting facts, deliberately misinforming the public and delivering a gift to the Kremlin.
Today, I’m releasing never before seen intelligence revealing new evidence of past US government funding for more than 120 biolabs in over 30 countries, including Ukraine. In support of President Trump‘s Executive Order to end federal funding of dangerous gain of function research around the world, and increase transparency and accountability, ODNI will continue working with partners across the Administration to identify where these labs are, what pathogens they contain, and what “research” is being conducted. odni.gov/index.php/newsroom/…

.@JamesTalarico: There's been a lot of talk in this race about what it means to be a real man. Recently on the campaign trail I told the story of my adoptive dad, Mark Talarico. Every Saturday morning, he would mow our lawn, and then without anyone asking him to, he would go next door and mow our neighbor's lawn because she was a widow. My dad never talked about it — he just did it, because that's what a man does. A man takes responsibility, upholds his commitments to his family and his neighbors, and does what's right, even when no one is watching. Here's what real men don't do. They don't lie and cheat their way through life, sell their soul to the highest bidder, or steal from other people in order to enrich themselves. Real men serve others. Weak men serve themselves. I welcome this debate about what it means to be a man, and I don't think Ken Paxton or Ted Cruz are in a position to tell anybody what a real man is.

Fire Point’s ballistic missiles have already been compared to ATACMS, now their missile interceptors are compared to Patriot AD missiles. There’s not much proof or evidence of effective deployment en masse or production capacity, but FT and The Economist are spreading it widely
Ukrainian FP-7.x anti-missile interceptor reached an altitude of 25 km during testing, which is comparable to the Patriot system performance, said Ukrainian weapons manufacturer Fire Point to the Financial Times. Mass production could begin in August, and the missiles can be fully ready by 2027. hromadske.ua/en/ukraine/2655…
