I've appointed Russell Jordan of Hernando as County Court Judge for DeSoto County, effective November 1.
His experience as a prosecuting attorney and civil litigator, combined with his dedication to the people of DeSoto County, makes him exceptionally qualified for judicial service.
He will serve until the position is filled by special election next November.

I’ve appointed Bo Luckey Commissioner of the @MissDPS effective immediately. @TindellSean will remain at MDPS until November 30, 2026, to assist with the transition.
Mississippi will always back the blue. Our state recognizes the tremendous sacrifices our law enforcement community and their families make to keep us safe. We will continue using every tool at our disposal to support them.
Bo has done an incredible job as Chief of Capitol Police. His work has made our capital city and state safer. He has years of law enforcement experience and is the right person to lead the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.
I’d like to thank Sean for admirably serving our state and wish him well in the next chapter of his career.

I’ve appointed Dana Sims as District Attorney for the Twenty-Third Circuit Court District, which covers Claiborne, Copiah and Jefferson counties, effective immediately.
Ms. Sims had already been temporarily appointed by Circuit Judge Tomika Irving. She brings years of prosecutorial experience to the office.
Ms. Sims will serve the remainder of the term that concludes at the end of this year. I thank her for her service to Mississippi.
