Think twice before burning on windy days! 💨🔥 High winds carry embers and spread wildfires fast.
This video from Oct 12th shows the 123-acre Carroll County wildfire (Area 24). Always check weather conditions & burn bans before burning outdoors!

🌲🔥 Area 14 Forester Cole Magers captured these shots on the ground at the Blue Room Rd. Fire in Panola County. Initially mapped at 225 acres, the actual footprint was much larger. Our crews continue doing what they do best: protecting MS forests!
🚨 HIGH WILDFIRE RISK FRIDAY!
Dry air, record heat & Isaias-driven winds mean extreme fire danger across MS.
⚠️ 18 counties already have active burn bans.
Fuels are critically dry. Please do NOT burn debris or open flames. One spark can quickly become a wildfire. 🌲🚫🔥
#TBT to 1941!🌲
In Tishomingo County, MFC fire crew member J.O. Nelson built one of MS's first "home-made" fire towers, a 40-ft platform built right into a sturdy oak tree.
With help from Ranger H.N. Wheeler and the Board of Supervisors, the tower could hold 4-5 people!
Fighting wildfires takes 24/7 dedication. 🔥 Area Forester Drew Fletcher captured this eerie, beautiful shot of a dozer on the fireline during the 2-acre NW Tishomingo Co. fire on 9/29, one of THREE fires he and his crews battled that night!
Please help #PreventWildfires!
Webster and Lafayette Counties have been added to the burn ban list, bringing the total to 20 counties under active restrictions.
