Thousands continue to protest into the week against vaccine passes and COVID tyranny in cities across Germany, where civil resistance continues to mount despite the official banning of protests. At least some Germans are serious about “never again.”

The same people who keep telling us the vaccines are safe and effective are the ones who insist the lockdowns were safe and effective.

People have become convinced that illiberal actions—coercing, lying, censoring, ostracizing—will save lives from COVID. They never stop to realize their farcical certitude that illiberal actions will save lives from COVID is a result of censorship, lying, ostracism, and coercion.

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but pretending you’re slowing the spread of COVID by supporting a bunch of totalitarian mandates that impose enormous costs on children, minorities and the poor does not make you virtuous or caring. Actually it just makes you a fascist.
