As an agent who works full time as a HS teacher, the best time for me to look at queries sometimes happens to be the weekend. Just saw a post that said rejections should be illegal on weekends… I get the frustration but I’m not doing it to be rude? Should I find another time?

Briar is passionate about creating stories with meaningful asexual representation that help readers feel more seen. Having grown up enchanted by Narnia, TLOTR, and Merlin, her works explore themes of siblinghood, friendship, and holding onto hope even in the darkest of times.

If Noctis, Prompto, Ignis, and Gladiolus show up in KH4 I will lose my entire mind. On that note, if anybody has something with FFXV vibes as a comp please feel free to send my way!

These past 2 years have not been easy and some of you have waited MONTHS to hear back from me. With my grad school chapter closing, I’m excited to spend all my extra time playing catch up on submissions. I won’t open back up until I’m caught up! Sorry for the wait. Charge on! ✨

Thank you for the birthday wishes! I wanted to give everyone a heads up that I will close to new queries fully on August 1st and don’t plan to reopen until at least September 15th. Grad school has caused me to be extremely behind and I MUST catch up. Get your queries in soon!

Today is a GREAT day! For one, it’s my balloon day. Hello 35! Two, I got my new headshots back and I look fabulous. Three, today is my last day EVER of Grad School. Graduation is next week. And four, it’s QuestPit! I’ll be dipping in sporadically as I can today. 😊

My first podcast! Big thanks to @demimschwartz who was a phenomenal host. Hope you’ll take a listen! 😇

✨ Chapter 86 of Literary Blend ✨ The fabulous @MLA_Matthew sat down with me to talk about the humanity of publishing. I truly wish everyone in the #WritingCommunity can hear this conversation. Honest. Transparent. Real. Out now on all podcast platforms. ❤️

So, I have a guest wishlist for Literary Blend. @MLA_Matthew was on it for a very long time before I finally got a chance to have him on the show, and you guys, if you’re not following the podcast on your favorite platform, now is the time. Matthew’s chapter is a new favorite. ✨

I have answered all queries sent before 2/1/26. I have a HEFTY maybe pile, so if you haven't heard from me yet know that you are very likely in my maybe pile. Please nudge me for peace of mind. :) I'm a bit more behind than I'd like to be so I'm working hard to get caught up!

If I requested material from a pitch event before 2/1/26 and you haven't heard from me, I am also trying my best to get to those this week / this weekend. I am really appreciative for everyone's patience.

I just have to say... I recently passed on a project and the response moved me in a way I did not expect. It was so simple, yet very profound. They simply said "Thank you for being a part of the journey". I'm going to be thinking about this for a very long time.

For my career to continue to grow, reviews on retail sites are a major driver for publisher investment. If you’ve read and enjoyed VESUVIUS, can you spare a moment to leave a rating or review on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Goodreads or other sites? It makes a huge difference.

I’m begging y’all to stop engaging with bad faith blue checkmark accounts. They are only profiting off your (justified) outrage to their horrible takes.

I would love to separate myself from the “apparently agents are using AI to XYZ” discourse I’ve been seeing all day long. Not all agents do that and I hate being lumped into that statement. Rest assured that I will not, have not, and never will use AI for any part of this job.
