It is a little more rudimentary than those we use today, but the design remains remarkably similar, because it worked then and it works now – this is a Saxon needle made of bone.
It was discovered in Pennyland, and is now part of our collection.

We were thrilled to receive a special visit from Father Christmas yesterday.
He was rather surprised to find a snowman while the sun shone, too. That's the magic of the Museum!

What do you love most among our many exhibits?
Another lovely addition to our revamped (currently a work in progress) ironmongers store - this antique sign once adorned the shop of John Odell, in Newport Pagnell.
Signs from a simpler time, and didn't they look so much nicer?

Many thanks to everyone who helped to make yesterday's British Leyland day such a success - more than 270 cars and one of our busiest ever days in the Granary!
Thanks to Tom Morley and his team for delivering this.
It was fabulous!
