Great news ahead of Christmas.
The Albanese Government has approved extensions to four metallurgical coal mines that employ over 3000 workers.
Boggabri, Caval Ridge, Lake Vermont and Vulcan South have had extensions approved, ensuring continued employment in these communities.

Hundreds of mineworkers have rallied outside BHP’s annual general meeting in Brisbane today, calling on the mining giant to stop fighting 'same job same pay' ahead of the new laws coming into effect on Friday.
BHP is challenging applications by the Mining and Energy Union for 'Same Job Same Pay' orders at three of its Queensland coal mines.
The union says BHP wants to keep paying employees of its in-house labour hire arm, Operations Services, about $30,000 less a year than permanent employees for performing the same work.

Today, we have made our first applications for Same Job Same Pay orders at BHP mine sites, covering about 1700 WorkPac, OS and Chandler Macleod employees.
Orders would lift these workers’ pay to rates between $10,000 and $40,000 a year.
