We are racing against the clock to complete our accession negotiations - and today we take an important step: Moldova opens 17 new chapters with the EU, in the Internal Market and the Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth clusters. That brings us to 24 of the 33 chapters opened.
The next stage is even more demanding: reforms, laws and institutions that meet European standards. Our determination is stronger than the obstacles ahead. We want our citizens and businesses to enjoy the same rights and opportunities as those in any EU member state.

Negotiation clusters are now opened on internal market as well as competitiveness and inclusive growth.

Enlargement is moving forward. The momentum is building.
Today, Ukraine and Moldova take another step forward, opening two more negotiation clusters. Montenegro has closed three additional chapters, while Albania has closed another.
Different countries, all making progress towards a stronger, safer, more united Europe.

Moldova has earned its place among the frontrunners of EU enlargement.
Today, we opened two more negotiating clusters: Internal Market and Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth, recognising Moldova's impressive progress on reforms.
Reforms under these clusters will bring new opportunities for Moldovan businesses, attract more investment and create better jobs.
We are well on track to make even more progress in the coming months.
