Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration of Ukraine

Joined December 2017
EU integration happens in every region of Ukraine. We should invest now in strengthening regional institutional capacity, building structures to effectively manage EU funding, and scaling up practical solutions nationwide. With @ULEADwithEurope and @EUDelegationUA, we discussed how to better prepare regions for the tasks under Chapter 22: “Regional Policy and Coordination of Structural Instruments.” Thankful for ongoing support!

Great meeting with MEP @KarinKarlsbro @EP_Trade. Discussed access for 🇺🇦 steel to the 🇪🇺 market. An industry already hit hard by russia’s war should not face additional barriers at a time when preserving jobs & industrial capacity is critical for Ukraine’s resilience and recovery. Ukraine supports the EU’s efforts to address global steel overcapacity. At the same time our exceptional circumstances require a genuinely special approach, with predictable market access reflecting actual trade flows. Grateful for the @EUParliament strong support for Ukraine & our European path

Positive news about Ukraine’s progress towards the EU goes hand in hand w/the brutal reality of 🇷🇺's war. Overnight, Russia launched 39 ballistic missiles & more than 120 attack drones and loitering munitions, targeting energy facilities & critical infrastructure in Kyiv, the region, and Kharkiv. Tragically, people were killed & injured. This was a deliberate, targeted attack on energy infrastructure. Thousands of people are without electricity - ordinary people who simply want to live, work and raise their children in their own country. We call on everyone around the world who refuses to turn a blind eye to this reality to respond - and respond firmly.🇺🇦 also urgently needs additional interceptor missiles to protect our people and infrastructure. Grateful to everyone standing w/us.

Another historic day: today, 🇺🇦 & 🇪🇺 opened negotiations on Clusters 2 “Internal Market” and 3 “Competitiveness and Inclusive Growth”. This reflects Ukraine’s sustained commitment to EU integration and the leadership of President @ZelenskyyUa in close cooperation of the gov with parliament in advancing our European path. Opening of clusters will take Ukraine deeper into the EU’s economic space: the Single Market, competitiveness, customs, education, science and digital transformation. Our task is clear: deliver on benchmarks and keep the process of 🇺🇦’s EU accession moving. We remain committed to a merit-based enlargement. Our priority is to continue implementing the European Commission’s recommendations and achieve a positive Individual Bilateral Assessment Report (IBAR) My sincere appreciation to @Ireland2026eu , @EU_Commission , @MartaKosEU , and all EU Member States for their unwavering support in this process.

Good discussion on the margins of today’s #GAC on strengthening Europe’s democratic resilience & Ukraine’s role in this work. Underlined that 🇺🇦 brings over a decade of practical experience in countering russia’s hybrid aggression. We are ready to contribute, from early warning & information exchange to joint analysis and preparedness. russia does not distinguish between 🇪🇺 member states & candidate countries when targeting our democracies. Our resilience should not be divided either. Ukraine’s integration into EU’s democratic security architecture strengthens Europe as a whole

At today’s interregional conference on #CRSV, I stressed that our joint response & prevention must work in every region & community. Effective coordination between central & local authorities, law enforcement, survivor organisations, civil society & partners is essential. 🇺🇦 is strengthening survivor-centred support, access to justice & rehabilitation, while bringing our policies closer to 🇪🇺 standards. Human dignity must remain at the heart of every decision @UNDPUkraine @UN_Ukraine @unwomenukraine

Good discussion with UN SRSG Pramila Patten on our joint work to prevent and respond to #CRSV. The latest UN findings are clear: 🇷🇺’s use of sexual violence against Ukrainians is systematic & widespread. 🇺🇦 remains committed to zero tolerance to sexual violence, accountability & support for survivors. Grateful to @USGSRSGPatten for her strong support & commitment to keeping Ukraine a priority for her Office and ensuring continuity of this work

An important step in delivering on Ukraine’s commitments under Cluster 1. Legislation on the educational rights of national minorities & indigenous peoples has been submitted to Parliament. We value the constructive dialogue with our partners, incl 🇭🇺 & the expert work that helped us move forward. Ukraine will continue delivering on its 🇪🇺 accession commitments. In a merit-based process, progress on reforms should translate into progress in accession negotiations

Today, we honour Ukraine’s defenders, whose courage and dedication protect lives and the values we share across Europe – freedom and democracy. They defend more than our country. Their bravery and sacrifice will become the core of the security and defence of the whole European continent.

Another sleepless night under Russian attack. Some will never wake up – among them is a child. Russia launched ballistic and anti-ship missiles and 188 drones overnight, including 86 jet-powered Shaheds, with the Kyiv region as the main target. Russian missiles took more lives in Kyiv and the region, leaving families to grieve. This terror must stop, but it never does. Ukraine needs stronger air defence and the world needs to increase the pressure on Russia to end its war

Non-stop blasts throughout the week in Kyiv, but not only. Across Ukraine, russian missiles & drones keep terrorising civilians, striking homes, critical infrastructure, trying to break our spirit, disseminate panic and feeling of predicament. Every missile aims to kill peaceful Ukrainians. Every single day we lose the most precious that cannot be restored – lives. Ukraine needs more means to protect our people. The world needs to deliver a stronger response to stop russia’s bloody terror

Deepening the engagement between 🇺🇦 & NATO, implementation of aANP as one of main instruments for reforms in defence & security, strengthening the ability of Ukraine to repel missile and drone attacks – these were among the main topics of my meeting with @DepSecGenNATO . Met w/ @NATO Assistant Secretary General for Operations @_ChristianBuck. russia continues to test how far it can go, incl through a growing number of dangerous incidents along NATO borders. We discussed, how Ukraine’s battlefield experience can contribute to our joint security and deeper practical cooperation with NATO. With winter approaching, strengthening Ukraine’s air defence & energy resilience is an urgent priority. Grateful to NATO & Allies for their continued support. Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic course remains unchanged, and we will continue advancing the reforms needed on this path
