Today, I am in DC to tell @RepDustyJohnson and @SenJohnThune to support the COVER Act. The cover act is an opportunity for congress to strengthen the federal crop insurance program by offering voluntary financial incentives to farmers that use cover crops.
Cover crops improve soil health, increase biodiversity, improve water quality and retention, helps control pests, and slows erosion. However, less than 7% of U.S. crop land uses cover crops. #FarmBill @NRDC_Action #ChefsLead @beardfoundation
