After more than 10 years of fighting for #SouthAfricansAbroad as @DA_Abroad , this is significant. What began in 2010s as a legal and expensive battle ended in the Constitutional Court in 2025 and Today the Citizenship Reinstatement Portal is live.
We’ve concluded full rollout of our Citizenship Reinstatement Portal, where anyone affected by last year’s ConCourt ruling can now verify/reinstate citizenship within one hour - no forms or queues. This is 𝘏𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘈𝘧𝘧𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘴 @ 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦! 🇿🇦

BREAKING:The Constitutional Court has ruled in our favour on the Loss of Citizenship case. A scathing judgment—any SA citizenship lost through the flawed “impune clause” since 1995 is now automatically reinstated! Justice served. @DA_Abroad @Our_DA @FrancineHigham @SaffaHayley

In just the last 3 months, #TeamHomeAffairs has disciplined 31 errant officials and facilitated prosecution against 2 others - with more arrests on the way as we work with the SIU to root out corruption. Even as we empower ethical officials, we have zero tolerance for corruption.
