This weekend we were in Council Member Feliz's district with @DarializaforNY and @ConradforHarlem talking to neighbors about the CURB Act. Of the people we spoke to, 91% support blocking SRG from policing protests. @OswaldFeliz, when will you bring the CURB Act to a hearing?

When protestors gathered in solidarity with Oscar Belgal, the NYPD responded with brutality. The CURB Act would ban the deployment of SRG to protests and block the use of dangerous tactics like kettling. Urge the Council to move CURB to a hearing: act.socialists.nyc/pass-the-…

The Chair of the NYC Council’s Public Safety Committee, @OswaldFeliz , is blocking a hearing on the CURB Act. The NYPD’s Strategic Response Group brutalizes protesters with impunity. It’s time we put an end to it.

Have some shame for what you did. You were not welcome in the Bronx yesterday, and you are not welcome in NYC ever. – at Brooklyn, NY
On October 8, at approximately 4:00 PM ET, ICE officers were conducting a targeted enforcement operation in the Bronx, New York, to arrest a criminal illegal alien from the Dominican Republic with a prior criminal conviction for grand larceny, and multiple prior arrests for assault, robbery, possession of drugs, and weapons possession. He has associations to the Trinitarios gang, the same gang who brutally shot a CBP officer last year. This criminal illegal alien was arrested by the NYPD on December 7, 2023, but was released into the community a few days later by reckless Democrat sanctuary policies that put American lives at risk. During the incident, an ICE officer discharged his weapon and the criminal illegal alien was injured. ICE officers immediately rendered aid. The individual is alive and at a local hospital. The FBI and HSI are on the scene. The incident remains under investigation. More information will be shared as it becomes available. When dangerous illegal aliens are released back onto the streets by radical sanctuary politicians, our officers are forced to make arrests at large in the community in unpredictable and dangerous environments. Our officers should not have to risk their lives, and innocent Americans should not have to face unnecessary danger, because sanctuary politicians refuse to cooperate with federal law enforcement.

ICE’s devastating shooting of a New Yorker in front of his child cannot stand. Neither can the NYPD's attack on New Yorkers who stood up for their neighbors. ICE is a terrorist agency that must be expelled from New York City and abolished.

Jessica Tisch must get ICE out of New York and end NYPD complicity with these terrorists. If the Commissioner can't put a stop to these injustices, she must be fired.

Yesterday, ICE agents shot, wounded, and abducted Oscar Belgal. When the community gathered in solidarity, they were met with police violence. We say no more. ICE out of New York. Abolish ICE. End NYPD violence and complicity.

3 years after New Yorkers won the Build Public Renewables Act, NYPA is finally breaking ground and just announced one of its biggest projects yet. But this is just one small step. New York still needs at least 15 gigawatts. It’s time for more, and faster.

As a Poughkeepsie Councilmember I see how climate change hurts our city. We depend on the Hudson River for drinking water, but extreme rain causes flooding and stormwater runoff creates contamination. NY must build 15 GW of publicly owned renewable energy to fight climate change!

Childcare is expensive, in part bc workers also deserve a livable wage. It isn't possible (or smart) to deliver universal childcare on the backs of overworked/underpaid workers. We can and must tax the rich to make this vision a reality. nytimes.com/2026/08/03/nyreg…

Affordability agenda loading… The higher price tag is because childcare workers deserve a living wage. We will *not* sacrifice workers rights for affordable childcare. The demand of the working class is clear: #TaxtheRich & fund childcare! nytimes.com/2026/08/03/nyreg…

Our communities are increasingly paying the very real human toll of climate change—extreme heat, unbreathable air, flash flooding. We can't afford NOT to transition to clean energy.
The fossil fuel industry wants us to believe we have to choose between clean energy and affordable energy. Brooklyn just broke ground on a new battery storage facility that proves them wrong.
