Yes Notre Dame went into a tough environment on road, battled back, got hosed at the end, etc but they reality is they’ve left themselves no margin for error - Win ag Miami or be staring down the same #CFPlayoff fate as last #NDfootball

Reminder - Garand can play 10 games, or be on roster for 30 days before he’s subjected to waivers again #NYR

No bigger Billy Smith fan than me but if I remember correctly neither Smitty nor Sorokin actually shot the puck in for the goal they were credited for? I know Smitty didn't. No Sabres goalie ever did it (NYS)?
Pre #NYR 💭 (cont)
2.) D is as deep 1-6 since mid 2010? Credit when credit is due to Dru
3.) Flip side - yes the team is better, but how much better? Low bar and this is still not a legit 🏆 contender
4.) Realistic goal- health, dev, playoffs & reset narrative
Pre #NYR 26-27 season 💭.
1.) Root cause of #NYR issues in 26 started in their own end - not goal scoring - 2nd & 3rd pairs could barely put 2 passes together and break out
Let’s call yesterdays #NYR play in D zone an aberration - for all the praise Sullivan gets in terms of their ⬆️ on D - this is one of the most incoherent offensive operations I can recall in 15+years- constantly out of sync & can barely put 3 passes on the tape - not just talent
Absolutely 👌#NHL
My eyes were wet from start to finish. I thought of being little in a big world & watching my son's first tries at this mad game. ESPN's Open to the NHL season is beautiful. I didn't expect to cry today-this is stunning. There's nothing like this sport. We at ESPN love the sport as you do. ❤️ Enjoy.

Everyone says NHL players are the toughest but in honor of Caleb Williams grade 1 hamstring strain, here is Kyle Palmieri crying in pain for the same exact thing.
Just kidding, he tore his ACL, stole the puck and got an assist on the same play.

According to @NextGenStats Giants rookie right guard Francis Mauigoa allowed 0 pressures on 36 pass blocks, the most blocks without allowing pressure by a rookie in Week 1 since 2018.
He primarily matched up with DT Kenny Clark, becoming the first player since Week 16 of 2023 to hold Clark without a pressure on 19 or more matchups.
