Garand has been locked in. Very impressed to see how mentally tough he’s been. Played great after getting pulled, continues his play tonight. #NYR
The Ducks come right back with a great scoring chance of their own, Garand gave up a juicy rebound off his pad and had to slide all the way across to prevent an easy goal, and he did. Good start from him #NYR
Just 1:18 after the opening faceoff and a low wrister from Sean Durzi beats everybody and through Husso’s legs, 1-0 #NYR
Dylan Garand, welcome to the show #NYR
Encouraging to see Dylan Garand having a much better start tonight. Everyone is allowed to have a bad game. It’s only a problem if a one off becomes a trend. Think #NYR are breathing a small sigh of relief watching him play well vs Columbus

Probably costs at least $600 to take a family of four to a Blackhawks game, including parking and a few snacks/sodas. Same with other sports. Same with theater. Same with concerts. Culture and entertainment in this country is only for the rich. Like everything else.
The problem with trading for stopgaps is what to do with them once the guy you traded a body to fill in for comes back healthy. Say you trade for a 4C now. Okay. What do you do with them once Veleno comes back in three months? These are details you have to think about #NYR
Replying to @ChelneyAndrew @PhilKocher
He definitely was. I was pretty impressed with Veleno the first few games TBH but I would really like to see Drury get a stopgap upgarde over Dowling until Veleno returns if at all possible
Devils avalanche all started with the bad giveaway from Miller. #NYR
That’s…not a good goal to give up if you’re Dylan Garand. #NYR
JT Miller just giftwraps a goal to the Devils. Terrible. #NYR
The Devils had a full two minute 5 on 3 PP, and not only did the Devils not have a single SOG, the most dangerous play was somehow a #NYR two on one. That might have been the most impressive penalty kill I’ve seen in a long time, wow
Why have an instigator penalty if Kovacevic isn’t going to get one here? Cuylle has to answer for the cleanest check in the book? #NYR
Cuylle and Garand are the big standouts to me. 60th and 103rd picks don’t tend to have the kind of impacts they’re bringing to the table. Sneaky great draft for #NYR

Seems your hour has already passed, but with Garand beginning to get games and Laf breaking out, makes me think how successful the 2020 draft was… Laf, Schneider, Cuylle, Garand, Rempe
They probably should’ve traded Schneider during the offseason, but I think him staying meant his trade value wasn’t good enough to justify a trade. Even if Schneider is just a perfectly average 6D, that holds more intrinsic value to #NYR than, say, a future middle round pick
Replying to @ChelneyAndrew
What do the Rangers ultimately do with Schneider as he’s max, pinned to the 3rd pair? Trade for value, trade to dump him, resign him, or let him walk for nothing? (Should have traded him at deadline/this summer fyi).
I can go full hopecore and say Drury learned from past mistakes and evolved how he evaluates defensive talent. My real answer is I don’t have a clue. The blueline shift in a single summer has been dramatic. Night and day talent difference #NYR

What do you think suddenly changed in terms of how the Rangers as an organization and Drury specifically evaluate and sign defensemen? Cause this is the best Rangers top 4 D since what? 2011?
2006 Jagr finished the season with 24 more goals and 44 more points than the next highest NYR skater. He definitely should’ve won the Hart that year
Replying to @ChelneyAndrew
If you could change the outcome of one Hart trophy, which one would it be?
Jágr in 2006
Lundqvist in 2012
Igor in 2022
I am once again at an airport, have about an hour to kill. What’s on your mind? #NYR
