For Sarah Montague, @Wato, Your interview on electric cars was so ill informed. You never put the challenges of sky high insurance, almost no technicians for repairs, problems with roadside recovery due to their excessive weight. These are crucial problems with these cars.
I want to post a Shout for @adcarcareranha1 in Farnham. They recently did a perfect job cleaning my car inside & out - in 20 mins! And also, cleaned the DPF of a Ford Galaxy that was completely blocked - & for a fantastic price. Quality with a smile!
I live in Guildford, Surrey. This is a fascinating record of the installation of the organ in the ‘New’ Guildford Cathedral in 1961. When I was a child, I bought a brick which is somewhere in one of the walls. youtu.be/DOBdrdhYd8k
I drove up the A3 from Guildford to Tooting, London, on Tuesday for a meeting. I was asked if I’d paid my extended ULEZ charge. What? There were no notices anywhere on the road saying I was entering this new charge area. Taxation by stealth - so unfair.
I had a Zoom meeting yesterday (10th May) and at the end of the 40-minute free session found I had to wait 4 minutes until I could resume. At the 10-minute timer at the end of my 2nd session, I was cut off with 4 mins to go. Zoom is def unfriendly now!
After Episode One, I’m no longer watching Frozen Planet ll. This is a real shame because the photography and stories are amazing. But I cannot stand the hectoring from Attenborough about global warming. The Planet has always warmed and cooled.
Thinking of taking your car to France? I suggest you do not choose the AA’s 5-Star insurance (@theAA_UK). My daughter broke down near Calais & altho the AA got her & family home, their car is still in France over 4 weeks later with no info re its return.
Does anyone else listen to BBC Sounds? I’m now an avid listener to this digital version of BBC Radio. But what really bugs me is, if I listen to a earlier programme, when it’s finished and I listen to the following prog, after 5,10 mins or so, I’m suddenly cut off - WHY?!
I listened to Any Questions on R4 today (for a while). It shows that Anna Soubrey has lost none of her vitriol and ability to select only facts which suit her and her feverish anti-Brexit stance, and the BBC has lost none of its ability to select a Labour/Remain audience. 😬😩
Release of CO2, which is effectively lighter than air (it rises to the stratosphere) is always described in tonnes. What volume of CO2 at standard temperature and pressure weighs a tonne? I have never understood this.

The BBC’s “Week in Westminster” on R4 today 7th March had the interviewee Gaby Burton with a microphone at half volume throughout. Did no one notice? Were there no more mikes to use? Very poor performance by the engineers.
PS 752 was one hour late in departing Tehran, but was the 10th departure that morning. The aircraft flew a similar track to those flown on previous days by this flight. Why did the missile commander choose to shoot down this aircraft rather than another?

When you hear or read a politician, a pundit or a journalist, the first and most important question you should ask yourself is this:
Is he or she seeking to advance their own interests (and those of funders, friends and faction), or seeking to advance everyone's interests?
We're starting off the year with a fairly typical huge area of High pressure sat over the whole of the UK (central pressure of 1041mb!) which means light winds and cold dank weather. In the National Grid screen grab we can see that electricity demand this Thursday evening (3rd...

#bbcpm Is there no real news this evening? A football manager says he's going to retire and that's the only news! What will it be like when he actually does retire?
