For years we've accepted that moving money between the diaspora and Africa has to be expensive, slow, and frustrating.
We don't.
Here's a look at what we've been building at Looprail. From the dashboard to the payment experience.
This is just the beginning.

This is exactly the problem Looprail is solving. The future of moving money across Africa is here.
“I had money in my account, but my payment was declined.”
That moment, traveling in a new country and being unable to spend money he already had, made a bigger problem impossible to ignore.
Meet Joshua Adepoju (@iamoffchain), founder of @LooprailHQ, a platform to help people move money into, out of, and across Africa, quickly and affordably.
Sending, spending, and receiving money across the continent often means juggling different apps, providers, and payment rails. Joshua and his team began with a remittance-focused product. But conversations with users, diaspora communities, and businesses revealed a bigger opportunity: building a unified financial layer for Africa.
Looprail is now in beta, with early users, its first transactions, and payout coverage across Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and Tanzania. The team has also established partnerships across on-ramp, off-ramp, wallet, and identity services to support its growing infrastructure.
“We’re building on Base for its reliable, low-cost transactions and developer ecosystem: tools that can help bring global financial access to more people across Africa.” - @iamoffchain
Looprail’s vision is simple: make moving money across borders feel as seamless as sending a text message.

Africa has the youngest population, one of the fastest-growing digital economies, and businesses trading across more borders than ever.
Yet sending money into Sub-Saharan Africa is still the most expensive in the world, according to the World Bank.
Maybe the problem isn't speed.
Maybe it's the infrastructure we've accepted for decades.
We explored why this happens and why new rails matter.

Here's another big step toward making African money move the way African people already do.
Today, we're excited to announce that Looprail is now live in Tanzania and Kenya.
No borders.
No unnecessary friction.
Just faster, simpler movement of value.
And we're only getting started.
Who's next?

Africa has the world's most expensive remittance corridor.
Intra-African trade is still below 20%.
Yet we keep asking legacy banking infrastructure to solve problems it was never designed for.
The issue isn't speed.
It's architecture.
Here's why: linkedin.com/posts/looprail_…

If you're an African remote worker, freelancer, or entrepreneur who's tired of losing money at every conversion point, this one's for you.
Follow @LooprailHQ.
The spending problem is being fixed. Finally.
The African fintech story isn't over.
The first chapter was making transfers faster and cheaper.
Chapter 2 is making spending seamless across borders, and Looplail is writing this chapter.
Looprail isn't competing with Grey or Lemfi. They won the transfer battle. Looprail is picking up where they stopped and solving the spending war that's barely even started.
This requires new infrastructure:
- Stablecoin rails for instant, cheap settlement
- Multi-currency accounts that facilitate spending, not just storage
- Payment interfaces that work where money actually needs to go.
Not just where legacy systems allow.
The next frontier isn't faster transfers. It's frictionless cross-border spending. Can I, as an African, actually LIVE internationally without my finances fighting me at every step?
Fintechs streamlined a segment of a broken chain. The full experience of earning, holding, spending, sending, and receiving across borders is still deeply fragmented.
We celebrated the win too early.
Right now, this is an African remote worker's financial journey.
Earn in dollars → Receive in a virtual account → Convert to naira (-3-5%) → Spend locally → Need to buy internationally? Convert back → Card declined → Repeat.
Every step has a fee or a wall.
What fintech solved:
The SENDING problem. Getting money from A to B more efficiently.
What they didn't solve:
The SPENDING problem. What happens AFTER the money lands?
How do Africans actually USE foreign currency, day-to-day, without friction?
Fintechs fixed transfers.
Wise. Remitly. Grey. Lemfi. They genuinely made sending money across borders faster, cheaper, and more transparent. But they stopped at the wrong finish line.
Here's what's still broken
Trust isn't a feature. It's infrastructure.
That's why we've integrated @didit to power identity verification on Looprail.
Faster onboarding, better security, less friction, and more confidence every time you move money across borders.
Building the future of African payments means getting the foundations right.
This is another step forward.
