Costco blade tenderizes its steaks. The label says so, and it's the reason a Costco steak comes with a cooking temperature printed on it. Before the steak hits the case it goes through a machine that pushes rows of thin blades into the meat to cut the muscle fibers, so a Choice steak eats more tender than it would on its own. You can't see the cuts once it's done, except sometimes in the fat on a ribeye. The catch is what rides in on the blades. E. coli lives on the outside of a cut of beef, which is why a rare steak is normally safe. The sear kills what's on the surface and the inside was never exposed. Push that surface into the middle with a blade and rare isn't safe anymore. That's why USDA says a mechanically tenderized steak gets cooked to 145F with a 3 minute rest, the same number as a pork chop, where a steak that wasn't tenderized carries no cooking instruction at all. USDA figures about 11% of the beef sold in the US is mechanically tenderized, and since 2016 the words have to be on the label. Costco started printing them in 2012, after an E. coli outbreak in Canada was traced to its blade tenderized steaks. The ground beef isn't tenderized. If the package in your cart says blade tenderized or mechanically tenderized, cook it through.

The dumping of Starlink commences
🇵🇱 NEW: Poland is preparing to develop its own alternative to Elon Musk’s Starlink, potentially in cooperation with other European countries. Deputy Defence Minister Cezary Tomczyk revealed today that: • Initial offers have already been received. • Funding has been secured, according to the minister. • The proposed technical architecture is being planned. • A formal project announcement could come within the next few months. The system would initially serve Poland’s military, followed by security services, government institutions and potentially the wider European market. The announcement comes amid controversy over restrictions on Starlink and Starshield services used by Ukraine. Tomczyk argued that Poland cannot remain dependent on a single individual controlling critical communications infrastructure. Importantly, the project remains in the planning stage. No operational satellite network or final contract has been announced.

On the Iran war's first day, Lockheed Martin PrSM missiles burst over a sports hall in Lamerd, killing at least 21 people, seven of them children. In September, a UN fact-finding mission found reasonable grounds to believe the strike was the war crime of an indiscriminate attack, because of the weapon itself. Since Lamerd, Lockheed has announced it will quadruple PrSM production, won an $8.4bn contract increase and a $1.2bn award for the next version, and signed a rocket-motor deal to speed up output. This week, CEO Jim Taiclet called missile demand "permanent" from the Texas plant that supplies the PrSM. A UN war-crime finding that rests on the weapon's design is not a matter for the Pentagon alone. It reaches the company that designed the missile, marketed it, and is now multiplying it. Under the UN Guiding Principles, a business that learns its product is linked to grave harm must assess that harm, act to prevent it from recurring, and account publicly for what it has done. Expanding production is not among the recognised responses. Lockheed has published no review of Lamerd. It has not disclosed the lethal radius, which Airwars found to be about three times what its promotional material implied. It has not answered journalists' questions. What it has done is declare the demand permanent. Knowledge is what turns a supplier into a participant. The suppliers of Zyklon B were tried in Hamburg in 1946. Frans van Anraat was convicted in the Netherlands for supplying chemicals to Saddam's Iraq. In both cases, the crime lay in continuing to supply after learning how the product was used. Lockheed cannot say it did not know. The New York Times, the BBC, AP, Airwars and the UN have all put Lamerd on the record. Every contract signed and every capacity increase announced since then was made with that record in full view. Responsibility does not stop at the company. Institutional investors have their own duties under the Guiding Principles and the OECD Guidelines. Any fund holding Lockheed stock now holds a company whose flagship strike missile sits at the centre of a UN war-crime finding, with no remediation in sight. On Oct 22, Taiclet and CFO Evan Scott take questions on @LockheedMartin's Q3 results. Analysts should not let the call pass without asking: Has Lockheed conducted any review of what the PrSM did in Lamerd? Did it give the Army the true lethal radius before the missile was fielded? Does it treat the UN finding as a material risk that must be disclosed to shareholders? Will it suspend PrSM expansion until an independent investigation is complete? If not, on what basis has it decided that the Lamerd record has no bearing on how many more it builds? Taiclet says the demand is permanent. So is the record. Every PrSM leaving the line from now on is built with full knowledge of what the first ones did in Lamerd. @MorganLBrennan @AzmatZahra @airwars @defense_news @ValerieInsinna @AP @commondreams @RStatecraft @DropSiteNews @TuckerCarlson @MaxBlumenthal @TheGrayzoneNews @aaronjmate @ggreenwald @ryangrim @jeremyscahill @kenklippenstein @tparsi @ComicDaveSmith @scotthortonshow @Judgenap @DougAMacgregor @RealScottRitter @esaagar @krystalball @breakingpoints @jimmy_dore @mehdirhasan @jeffdachis @IRIMFA_SPOX
Asked about the Iran War's effect on defense stocks, Lockheed Martin CEO says: "Investors need to know and understand that this demand is not fleeting — it's permanent."

Replying to @IDF
I was a combat soldier in an elite IDF unit. I served in the West Bank and witnessed firsthand how settlers could do whatever they wanted with impunity. Today I’m the Executive Director of ״Breaking the Silence״ an organization that has collected thousands of testimonies from Israeli soldiers over the past two decades. And I can say with certainty that this statement by IDF spokesperson is a lie. The IDF is not trying to stop Jewish terrorism in the occupied territories. In fact, it protects Jewish terrorists and arms them with US-made M16 rifles. If the IDF genuinely wanted to stop Jewish terrorism, the Chief of Staff could simply order the 30,000 soldiers stationed in the West Bank to carry out arrests. It’s that simple.

1\5 America went much further than that with its recent Starshield/Starlink restrictions on Ukraine. Let me explain the effects. Starlink is a technology that provides critical communication service to government and civilian sector, I repeat the service is critical. So what happened, and why it matters? Someone wanted a 2 cent lower diesel prices before the midterms, or was promised something by putin in exchange for this, maybe he just had a bad mood. Many say Ukraine is not an ally, so the USA can just do whatever it wants, however the service that was crippled by American political leadership or at their silent approval is sold to Germany and Poland, which are part of NATO and are in critical interests of these countries to keep Ukrainian operations running, you may argue, but it's official position by the elected political leadership of these states. Many say it's a blow to the starlink, others that it's a blow to American military industries. I think it's much wider, it's a significant in blow to the American tech and industrial sector which has been driving Americans economy for the past decades. I am a cloud infrastructure engineer developing on premise, hybrid and sovereign solutions. This cloud infrastructure hosts data services used in production facilities, telecom, AI, mining industries and energy sector. Essentially all critical services to a functioning state. Right now everything is run via remote control planes. Here are more concrete 3 example in the thread below:

Never has the concept of Liberal Zionism looked more absurd and contradictory. It almost makes you feel sorry for people who simply can't accept the evidence before their eyes that the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians was inevitable from the very beginning of Zionism. As Theodor Herzl wrote in his diary on June 2nd 1895: “We must expropriate gently the private property on the estates assigned to us. We shall try to spirit the penniless population across the border by procuring employment for it in the transit countries, while denying it employment in our own country. The property owners will come over to our side. Both the process of expropriation and the removal of the poor must be carried out discreetly and circumspectly.”
“settlers are undermining the settler project” guys we’re reaching levels of liberalism heretofore thought impossible

Much punchier accusations from Sir Malcolm Rifkind - a former defence and foreign secretary: "I choose my words very carefully. I think this week Donald Trump has shown himself as a person to be repulsive; as a President of the United States to be a disgrace to his own people as well as to his international responsibilities. "We all know his actual reasons for this are a grubby attempt to win a few more votes in the midterms by trying to get oil prices down. "In order to achieve that, he has not only betrayed Ukraine in the middle of a war, fighting for its very existence, but he is also directly - not indirectly - directly responsible for the deaths of many Ukrainians who will not now be protected by the attempts that have been successfully made using intelligence provided indirectly by the United States." xitter.cf/breeallegretti/status/…

Israeli prisons are using rubber bullets from very close range on prisoners, especially Palestinian ones, according to multiple reports. The results are utterly devastating: 1) A prisoner at Ktziot lost a testicle after a rubber bullet hit him in June 2026. Soroka's medical document says it was "completely mangled." He says a guard had kicked him in the testicles during a strip search a week earlier. The Masada unit then fired "rubber bullets that looked like marbles" through his cell door window. He was hit in the testicle and behind the right knee and dragged about 50 meters while bleeding. "From what the prisoners described, I looked like a slaughtered animal." He was shackled and blindfolded, and clinic staff called him a "dog." (Haaretz, Oct 14) 2) A prisoner at Megiddo was shot in October 2025, which left a hematoma in his right thigh. He fell on the same thigh during a raid on his cell in February. In March, hospital scans found a broken pelvis, and he needs a total hip replacement. IPS says the fracture came from the fall. (Haaretz, Oct 14) 3) A prisoner at Shita was among four hit on September 29, 2025. He is a criminal prisoner. A Masada unit threw stun grenades at the cell door, ordered the prisoners to lie down with their hands on their heads, and then fired rubber bullets at them. Several bullets hit his legs. His lawyer says "a huge hole was created in my client's leg." He bled for a long time without treatment. (Ynet, Jan 2026) 4) A prisoner at Ktziot was shot at close range in April 2026 while kneeling with his hands on his head. About 40 prisoners had been crammed into one cell, and he puts the range at no more than two meters. "I heard a gunshot and felt pain in my left leg. At the same time I heard prisoners screaming in pain." Four prisoners were hit. All of them were made to lie face down with their heads near the sewage, and guards stepped on them. The wounded were put in solitary the next day. He went 15 days without proper treatment and had surgery only after his release. (Haaretz, Oct 14) 5) A prisoner at Ktziot had surgery to fix a broken left tibia after being shot in July 2026. The source is an IPS medical document. (Haaretz, Oct 14) 6) A prisoner at Nitzan was hit by a rubber bullet during a cell search in May 2024. He is a criminal prisoner. His lawyer describes "a large hole, the size of a tennis ball, and a deep wound." A judge ordered that he be sent to a doctor. (Ynet, Jan 2026) 7) A prisoner at Ofer was shot and tasered in the head after asking for scabies treatment. He had refused to go back into his cell until he got medication. (PHRI via Haaretz, Oct 14) 8) A cellmate of journalist Samer Khuwaira "had been shot with a rubber bullet from two meters away" for moving too slowly during a cell raid. The reprint places this in its Nafha section but doesn't name the prison outright. Khuwaira also describes guards firing four or five rounds into the ground in the yard. (Haaretz magazine, Oct 8, via Anadolu) 9) Journalist Ali Samoudi says guards "fired rubber bullets at naked prisoners in the showers" during a Ramadan raid. He was held at Ktziot and Megiddo. (Haaretz magazine, Oct 8, via Anadolu) 10) A former prisoner known as R., released from Ktziot in April 2025, says guards fired rubber bullets into cells at about 2 a.m. nearly every night. (Haaretz magazine, Oct 8, via Countercurrents) 11) An unnamed prisoner was told by doctors he "might need to have a limb amputated" because of complications from a rubber-bullet wound. The Palestinian Prisoners' Society also reported dozens of other cases with severe bleeding, some needing surgery. It gave no names, prisons or dates. (WAFA, Jul 20, 2026) This is yet another cruel element of how Israel treats their prisoners. Other elements involve torture, rape, bestiality, murder, arbitrary punishment, deprivation and starvation. Many of these prisoners have not been charged with any crimes.

Out of roughly 2 million olive trees in Gaza before October 2023, only 150,000 trees remain standing. This is a loss of roughly 85% to 90% of the region's olive groves. Ecocide is the deliberate, widespread destruction of natural ecosystems necessary to sustain human life. Many experts would agree that Israel's systematic destruction of Palestinian farmlands, aquifers, and trees would qualify as ecocide. Under international humanitarian law including the Geneva Conventions, any objects indispensable to the survival of the civilian population like agricultural areas are granted special protections during conflict. Olive oil and table olives are crucial to Gaza's local agricultural economy, but in Palestinian culture, olive trees are much more than just a commodity. They are symbols of continuity, resilience, and attachment to the soil. Many groves are hundreds of years old and passed down through generations. Unlike annual crops like tomatoes or cucumbers that can be replanted and harvested in a single season, mature olive trees represent decades of invested capital. Losing them wipes out a reliable source of income for thousands of families, leaving them dependent on foreign aid.

US has not spent $350B on Ukraine. It has spent $132B, $33B of that is money. The rest is $21B in loans, repaid from frozen Russian assets, $4B in humanitarian aid, and the vast majority, $74B is military equipment. Half that equipment is new, made in the US. The other half is old stockpile equipment, which soon would have had to be demilitarized at great cost. The replacement equipment is made in the US, so the money stays in the US.
Meanwhile, the EU and European countries have spent a combined $271B, more than twice as much as the US.

These are the hands of 48-year-old Natalia and her 15-year-old daughter Polina. They were recently killed by a russian airstrike in Zaporizhzhia. Rescuers found their bodies beneath the rubble, still holding hands. This is the reality of russia’s war crimes in Ukraine. And now these war crimes are paid by Trump and his supporters.

One year ago today, Hamas terrorists in Gaza publicly executed several innocent Palestinians from the Dughmash family. They forced people to watch and chanted that anyone who challenged Hamas’s rule would face the same fate. The clashes with the Dughmash family began after the ceasefire agreement was signed, when Hamas ordered families to evacuate the buildings where they had taken shelter as it prepared to reassert its control. With nowhere else to go, the family refused. Hamas responded with gunfire. Hamas then surrounded the family’s neighborhood, detained residents, and killed people based on their family name. More than 28 innocent Palestinians were killed. Even today, only one human-rights group has documented even a small part of this story. Hamas has never stopped terrorizing the people of Gaza. DOWN WITH HAMAS.
