I just did some research on that table. VW's Emden plant seems to be a pretty special case. They only produce EVs which were not selling until recently. The plant currently runs at half its capacity. So yes manufacturing in Germany is not cheap but maybe not as bad either.

🚩Here is a news story that got less coverage than $NVDA. A Miami investment firm, 777 Partners, is accused of pledging the same collateral to two lenders and borrowing against assets it never owned. Its biggest lender was an insurance group. Regulators woke up (after the fact) and said 30% of its invested assets sat in junk-rated private credit and unrated loans, against a 10% cap. It gets way worse. 🧵
