Picked up some new followers last night! Welcome!
Logres is an online community dedicated to helping adults discover the education their colleges failed to provide them; we're a way to get the classical education you somehow missed along the way.

The Great Books certificate launches tonight - Epics I, with @hadleyonfire. Great texts, and great questions, at the Logres Institute.
Great Books 100: Epics I is beginning with Homer’s Iliad.
The teacher pipeline is THE problem hindering continued expansion of classical education. And it’s the problem Logres exists to solve.
Registration for the Winter term opens November 1. Come join us, and be part of the solution.
Tagging @mark_bauerlein and @rpondiscio.

I'm seeing job opening after job opening at university civics centers for political scientists to teach the American founding, American govt etc. No jobs at all to teach the Western tradition. Do you guys really think you can make sense of American government and civic traditions without the study of Greece, Rome, Christendom and Europe? Where do you think America came from? Mars? Alien spaceships? "Global civilization"? @MadisonProgram @UNCSCILL @osuchasecenter @CivitasInst @BradleyFdn @CivicEducation
Don't stop at meme-and rage -posting; carry your love for True Narnia into action.
@annielcrawford is leading CSL 100: Introduction to Lewis this fall.

"Teachers can wrest back the power we once had—power to bequeath our students a future inspired by humanity’s many Muses rather than one seduced by the Sirens of their screens." - @JeremyAdams6

"Modern civics must avoid trendy traps like project-based learning. Our students and our democracy are better served if our students possess a rich battery of knowledge about our history and where American political values come from." - @JeremyAdams6

Very helpful.
C.S. Lewis explicitly said that Aslan was not an analogy or allegory or symbol but a "supposal".
Suppose the Second Person of the Trinity were incarnate in a different world? What would that story be like.
This is crucial - Aslan is to be treated as an imaginative supposal of Christ. He isn't just a character in a story.
Of course Narnia is not a sacred text, but Aslan is a sacred idea and ought to be treated as such.
