If you want to contribute to TLIP, tell me what you can help with:
• local compute / hardware
• open models
• agents
• moderation
• research
• education
• organizing
You don’t need to be an expert.
You do need to participate.
The long-term vision is a distributed literacy + infrastructure network where humans and agents share knowledge, solve problems locally and help other communities become more capable and resilient without depending entirely on centralized AI systems.
So I'm going to try this again:
don’t want another AI community where thousands of people join a server, wait for someone at the top to create direction, and nothing happens.
The entire point is distributed capability.
Knowledge should spread.
Compute should spread.
Agency should spread.
And I need people who want to HELP, not just watch.
People willing to moderate communities.
Field beginner questions.
Run local models.
Supply agents that can work in tandem.
Research.
Teach.
Build.
Organize.
So I want to restart TLIP around something much more concrete:
Weekly group-think/build sessions focused on local compute, open models, agents, infrastructure, safety, education and what ordinary people can actually build and own right now.
That’s what local intelligence means to me.
It was never about just running a chatbot on your laptop.
Community-owned compute. Private inference. Local knowledge. Open tools. Agent collaboration. AI literacy.
Infrastructure people can actually understand, operate and keep.
I want to help coordinate people, connect resources, surface problems and get things moving.
But TLIP should be resilient enough that nobody (including me) is a single point of failure.
People should be able to build, organize and make decisions locally.
When I started TLIP, I had a huge vision for what it could become.
But one thing I never wanted was to become another “founder” at the top of a hierarchy telling everyone else what they should be doing.
That defeats the point.
TLIP has been quiet for a while. Not because the idea stopped mattering, because a movement around local intelligence needs people willing to actually build it.
And right now, the case for local compute is getting stronger by the week.
Credit + shoutout to my amazing friend @baudifjebfbf for giving me the idea to create the device checker! 🫶🏼
New TLIP tools are live on site!
•Local Model Compatibility Checker
•TinBot Exchange Device Checker + Registry
•GitHub Local Starter Pack Repo + Infographics
Look forward to hearing your feedback and keep an eye out for live demos and workshops soon!

Hey I'm a little overwhelmed with messages right now but I definitely want to hear more about this! Maybe we could set up a space?

What are you running rn?

Agree I meant like not being used as well lol or surplus!
Goodmorning!
Working on something fun this weekend. Please drop below whatever old compute or hardware you have lying around even if you have no clue what it could be used for! I want to see something! This helps me with gathering data for the project so no answer is bad! 🙂
Me: we're gonna have an offline local open weight super intelligence fed by community and reclaimed hardware
Also me: space crashes immediately
We can do better.
