You’re not allowed to say that any place sucks because a theoretical gay person lives there
I'm very averse to anti-Florida rhetoric. There is a rich queer and multi-racial working class history here. Some of y'all give pretentious when you say you'd rather die than live in this state

Bunch of people getting angry at someone pointing out the exact reason why you should use a credit card as a buffer for all your purchases. I don't even feel bad when people's debit details get stolen if you're this resistant to avoiding the problem in the first place lol.
You use a debit card at 31 years old

The whole point of buying things on credit is that you're spending the bank's money, so if you get scammed or the details get stolen or whatever it's in their best interest to get their own money back and you don't lose anything. If you use your debit instead you're just fucked.

Plus on top of that security you get like 2% cash back on groceries which isn't crazy or anything but it adds up and is entirely free with no downside as long as you actually pay attention to what you're doing and don't spend more money than you have.

i really love the genre of leftist that pretends like they believe in baseless fairy tale nonsense just because they feel an obligation to respect Alternative Ways of Knowing

astrology has been a thing on the indian subcontinent for thousands of years. turks, arabs, mayans all had it as a huge part of their culture for a good amount of time too. yall are too dismissive and arrogant sometimes. we don’t kno what we don’t kno

mystical thinking is a mindset that makes you especially vulnerable to reactionary thought. there's a reason the crunchy granola types disproportionately got into maga and qanon
ok but it is really important that we all agree magic isn't real

While it’s true some people dismiss astrology on misogynist grounds, I’m afraid that Le Guin said it best.
anti-astrology is always a veiled misogyny

in my culture, beating children has literally been around for thousands of years. it's part of the culture and it gives people a sense of community and purpose. the fact that you would even suggest stopping the beatings betrays your western-centric colonialist mindset.

Finding it absolutely fascinating how many replies to this just categorically refuse to accept you can understand something and still not like it. They just keep going and going on "you don't get it because if you did you wouldn't have different tastes to me".
i always found the way frieran wanted to have its cake and eat it too when it came to the demon race a bit jarring. they're sentient and capable of reason but also still pure evil and frieren is repeatedly treated as justified in her prejudice towards them.

Astrology people like to pretend they are talking about cosmological objects when it is obvious they are exclusively talking about archetypes, which is what qualifies it as esoteric fascism. You think stars have personalities lol
Believing in astrology is full send dialectical materialism. Like “oh yeah I believe that material conditions structure subjectivity and consciousness, not the other way around. But that stops at the stars.” Get real

people who are aggressively into astrology are, by any measurable metric, more socially harmful than people who are aggressively not into it
i find ppl who aggressively not into astrology 100x more annoying than ppl who are aggressively into it

why do people think "v-coding" just means "prison rape"? its more than that. v-coding is not being put in a situation where youre likely to be raped its being sentenced to rape. its systemic, its institutionalized, its explained to you by staff that thats what theyre doing to you

I’ve kind of aged out of the Google Doc Demographic but people have to remember that like most teenage shit “””cancellation””” is less a function of how much bad shit you’ve actually done and more a function of how annoying your peers think you are

Notice how this fully anti-trans detransition therapy rhetoric is so functionally similar to the "you're valid no matter what, you don't have to transition to be trans" rhetoric that we have all inculcated ourselves to?

i believe that any ideology which tells trans people that they dont need to / shouldnt transition should be seen as a deadly threat to our community. this is why i think that both the "heckin valid" crowd and doomerism need to be treated like the poison they are
I don’t agree with them, but I have to admit now that truscum and “transmeds” (whatever that means at this point) are infinitely less harmful and transphobic (especially when it comes to transmisogyny) than the “you don’t need to transition to be hecking valid!!!” crowd.
