“Get out of the road you dumb motherfucker.” The last word was still a novelty in the speech of white people in 1944. It was fresh and astonishing to Billy, who had never fucked anybody—and it did its job. It woke him up and got him off the road.”

You mean the incessant randi rona of PBM since 2014 😂
Can’t remember precisely when- after Article 370 was revoked in 2019 or after Justice Muralidhar’s transfer in 2020- @pbmehta had written that the battle for India’s constitutional democracy would have to be fought on the streets. He was dead right & it’s finally started.
Fantastic read. Recommended for anyone interested in American literature and its inflated way of life as seen through the eyes of a "puny Islander"—the English #MartinAmis. 😂
He is increasingly cruel to few stylish writers but his review of Roth and Bellow is illuminating!
Was reading The Moronic Inferno by Martin Amis where he dumps on Joan Didion for her so called style. A very good insulting piece on here where he mentioned this article.
Don’t forget to read the two letters.

Progressives, durbaris, malcontents, and leftists rallying behind the world's first trillionaire, who they formerly loathed for reasons from his provocative remarks, to insinuate that an Indian billionaire runs the country, is so hilarious that irony died a million deaths laughing out loud.
The trillionaire is from a country where lobbying and interest huckstering is legalized, and both parties have their set of big industry and corporate funders.
In a 2015 interview, the former US president Jimmy Carter called USA an 'oligarchy of private wealth with unlimited political bribery'.

Naseeruddin Shah claims to miss the India of old. In reality, he misses it because in that India the Hindus suffered discrimination but did not speak up.
Here I expose him for what he is, a real life Gulfam Hassan – a traitor to the cause of justice, equality, and fraternity.

Don't get the wrong idea, the complete quote is:
“Nobody knows what's in him until he tries to pull it out. If there's nothing, or very little, the shock can kill a man.”

The captain of the Flydubai Flight to Tel Aviv has been identified as Smit Machchhar from India. He
was stabbed with a knife by his co-pilot, an Omani, in the cockpit on Flydubai flight FZ1073. Passengers and crew members intervened, subdued the attacker, and helped stabilize the flight. Both pilots were taken to hospital after landing and Saudi authorities have arrested the co pilot.
Capt. Machchhar remains under medical care. Wishing him a complete and speedy recovery. ♥️
Than you @BPLBoston !
Just glanced through it I’m definitely buying dozen copies to give to people.

The biggest criticism I get is, "C'mon, you have to be exaggerating the stuff that goes on at Columbia University. There's no way it's that bad."
Exhibit A:
This book is real. So is the award.
In “A Dead White: An Argument Against White Paint” the author
argues that white paint isn’t neutral—it carries associations with purity, cleanliness, and power that tie into systems of exclusion and racism.
This from the university that gave us Mortimer J Adler and the Great Books movement.
