Whilst the railway community seems to (mostly) avoid the toxicity of what has become X, I'm out of here. This account will remain to avoid anyone else taking it over... but, for now you can find me where the Sky is Blue or on IG. Or the model railway is at cwmbach.markwilson.co.uk/
I wasn’t sure whether to exhibit my O gauge layout “Cwm Bach” in #ModelTrainShow2025 because it’s (still) not finished. After having seen some of the other exhibits, I decided to join in, so here’s a thread of short videos... 🧵
And you can find out more about Cwm Bach (or talk to me about exhibiting at your show) at:

These arrived yesterday from @gdmkimages. One of them will be added to the #CwmBach exhibition board #OGauge #ModelRailways #TMRGUK #ModelTrainShow2025
Right, I did stop posting here on X because, frankly, I don’t want to support Musk but it seems I’ll need to put principles to one side (!) and post some videos for #ModelTrainShow2025. Watch this space…

It would be great if we could move forward to an independently regulated, vertically integrated railway without all the simplistic private good/public bad (and vice versa) rhetoric, from all sides.
Quite amusing to see that X is currently labelling model railway content as “adult”… not just @NSE_Latchmere but this is one example…
A client visit means I’ll get a nice ride on the railway tomorrow, up the ECML and on to Middlesbrough. I’ll be looking out for old rail-built buffer stops to see what colour to paint them on my layout…
And, thanks to the wonders of British railway ticketing, if I drive to the ECML and pick up a train at Peterborough, my two off peak singles cost me just under £130. If I’d gone from Bedford or Milton Keynes, I’d have been routed via London and it was over £300…
After dropping my main account from Twitter/X, I’m thinking of doing the same with my railway one too… if anyone who follows me here is over on Instagram, you can find me at instagram.com/linesideimages #RailwayPhotography #TMRGUK #IMRGUK
